Our passion is designing and building powerful 3D printing tools. Our manufacturing team is responsible for research and development of the manufacturing processes for all of Formlabs products. They work cross functionally with mechanical design, electrical, and materials teams.

Job Summary:

The Team Lead in Resin Manufacturing oversees the daily operations of the production line, ensuring the efficient and safe manufacturing of resin products. This role involves supervising team members, maintaining quality standards, optimizing processes, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Management:

  • Oversee resin production processes to meet quality and production targets.
  • Monitor workflow, ensuring efficient utilization of materials, equipment, and manpower.
  • Address and resolve production issues to minimize downtime and waste.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor a team of operators and technicians.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide feedback and coaching.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.

Process Optimization:

  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices.
  • Work with maintenance and quality teams to troubleshoot and optimize production processes.
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all resin products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits to maintain consistent quality.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Control (QC) team to address deviations and implement corrective actions.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Enforce compliance with company policies, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Promote a culture of safety through training, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Training and Development:

  • Provide ongoing training and skill development for team members.
  • Ensure employees are cross-trained to handle different stages of the production process.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of production, quality, and safety data.
  • Prepare and submit regular production reports to management.
  • Track inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure raw material availability.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Relevant technical certifications or equivalent experience in resin manufacturing.

🎯 Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in resin manufacturing or a related industry.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or team lead role is preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of resin production processes, batch mixing, machinery, and quality standards.
  • Proficiency in process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Understanding of safety protocols, OSHA, and environmental regulations.

Leadership Skills:

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.

Problem-Solving:

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills to troubleshoot production challenges.

Communication:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing plant setting with exposure to chemicals, heat, and noise.
  • May require standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of heavy materials.

Schedule:

  • Full-time, with the possibility of rotating shifts and overtime based on production demands.
