Job Responsibilities:
Job Purpose
Supervisor will be responsible for managing a Team of production employees.
1) Ensure a safe Work Environment.
2) Build a Quality product
3) Maintain KOI targets ( Productivity, Efficiency ,OEE, FTC, etc. )
4) Establish a good Team environment .
Duties and responsibilities
• Possess a comprehensive understanding of foam plant operations.• Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, and Mold Maintenance departments to troubleshoot and resolve issues with various processing equipment.
• Effectively communicate with various departments to achieve management's goals and objectives.• Foster strong working relationships across departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Achieve productivity and efficiency targets as set by the Production Manager.• Implement process improvements to enhance production performance.• Address policy violations promptly, emphasizing accountability to maintain operational integrity.
• Ensure all employees adhere to company safety procedures at all times.• Address safety concerns raised by workers or identified during safety audits.• Conduct accident investigations and implement corrective actions.• Participate in resolving work refusals as requested by the manager.
• Ensure workers are properly trained to perform their jobs safely and efficiently.• Lead daily start-up meetings and monthly safety talks.• Maintain up-to-date job training records for all employees.• Mentor and develop team members to reach their full potential.
• Develop and maintain a team-oriented atmosphere at all times.• Utilize a rotation schedule to manage employee placement and workload.• Enforce all company policies and procedures consistently.
• Maintain accurate employee records, including attendance, timekeeping, yearly review and training documentation.• Ensure compliance with the Collective Agreement to prevent grievances.• Complete daily/weekly Layered Process Audits (LPAs) and file them as required.• Administer progressive discipline promptly when necessary.• Verify employee attendance records and swipe-in times daily.• Document ongoing production issues in the action tracker for escalation.• Enter LPA, 5S, health and safety, quality, and start-up scores into the tier dashboard.
• Ensure service parts are produced timely and properly identified.• Submit daily shift notes highlighting critical events affecting operational targets.• Respond promptly to first-off and new forms from the lab.• Segregate and identify tools producing non-conforming parts.
• Adhere to guidelines in accordance with the latest revisions of ISO-14001, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and Customer Specific Requirements.
Duties and responsibilities - Standards
A) Achieve departmental KOI's as set by the Department Manager.
B) Follow all guidelines in accordance with ISO-14001 & TS 16949 requirements.
C) Maintain safety and housekeeping at all times, following 5S Gap Plan and principles.
D) Other duties as assigned.
Safety, Health and Environmental Responsibilities - Standards
A) Ensure that Health and Safety and Environmental standards are adhered to in accordance to the Magna Charter, Company Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act .
B) As required participate in plant safety, health and environmental programs.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2-3 years of supervisory experience or equivalent, preferably acquired in the automotive industry. Experience preferred in the areas of high volume production in a JIT environment . University degree or College diploma is preferred. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal leadership skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proven project and time management skills. Computer literate, including proficiency in Word, and Excel. Previous Supervisory training an asset.
