Job Purpose
To arrange delivery for all raw material to satisfy production schedules while maintaining targeted inventory levels and freight objectives.
Duties and responsibilities - Job Specific
A) In SAP, create and manage assigned parts and their respective suppliers from cradle to grave.
B) Issue Releases to supply base and monitor on time delivery, while managing external stakeholder relations.
C) Analyze MRP weekly / daily, monitoring inventory levels in accordance with Customer demand and PFEP parameters.
D) Coordinate transportation of production material from suppliers as needed in support of established production requirements, minimizing the cost of freight for assigned suppliers.
E) Complete SAP Health Checks, as required. F) Participate in Schedule Month End Activities.
G) Assist in all inventory activities and manage inventory issues on a regular basis.
H) Prepare daily lists of components for cycle counter, while ensuring the accuracy of all inventories and receiving records.
I) Communicate all supply discrepancies to suppliers and appropriate material personnel and document via QPF
J) Coordinate engineering changes and build schedules with suppliers and production such that customer expectations are met while minimalizing obsolescence exposure
K) Assist in department responsibilities for Magna MAFACT & MMSA Assessments
L) Track and coordinate returnable dunnage to all assigned suppliers
M) Assist in maintaining job related work instruction & forms in company document control software
N) Support the on-boarding, training, and coaching of new end-users with the Material Planner process
O) Other duties as assigned.
Duties and responsibilities - Standards
A) Achieve departmental KOI's as set by the Department Manager.
B) Follow all guidelines in accordance with ISO-14001 & TS 16949 requirements.
C) Maintain safety and housekeeping at all times.
D) Follow all guidelines in accordance with ISO-14001 & IATF requirements.
Safety, Health and Environmental Responsibilities - Standards
A) Ensure that Health and Safety and Environmental standards are adhered to in accordance with the Magna Charter, Company Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
B) As required participate in plant safety, health and environmental programs.
Qualifications
3 years experience in an automotive Materials, or related environment.
Post secondary education in a related discipline (i.e.) Business Certificate or Business Degree, or equivalent experience.
Proven work experience as a Material Planner of similar role in the Materials Dept.
Preferred: Knowledge of vendor scheduling and releasing, transportation, customs and freight tenders. Knowledge of purchasing, production control, engineering change, Bill of Material and MRP system. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and take lead on several issues. Excel Macro building an asset.
