Job Description
Job Summary:
Operate and maintain production equipment to maximize “up time” for production in accordance with the LSI Operating Manual and manufacturing instructions. Production equipment and workstations include: printer, book binders, trimmer and laminators
Other Duties:
- Cross-functional to work in other operations departments as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- To be responsible for your own Health and Safety and be aware of factors affecting your colleagues in order to maintain a safe environment.
- To report any accidents, potential hazards to your Line Manager immediately.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to operate a personal computer effectively.
- Reading comprehension
- Writing skills
- Math skills – basic arithmetic, addition, subtraction
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work safely and adhere to safety guidelines in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks
- Ability to work independently or collaborate in a group environment
- Ability to be flexible/multi-task based on workflow demands
- Ability to meet and maintain production standards
- Ability to maintain reasonably reliable attendance
Qualifications
Experience:
- 1 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Experienced HP T240 operator and/or experienced Ricoh colour printer operator and experienced Autobond Laminator operator essential.
Education:
- GCSE’s or equivalent.
Essential Physical Demands:
- Ability to walk and stand continuously during the assigned shift.
- Ability to lift/carry in full range of motion up to 50 lbs. during the assigned shift – up to 30 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to push/pull in a manufacturing environment up to 50 lbs to push during the assigned shift – up to 40 lbs frequently and up to 50 occasionally.
- Ability to grip/grasp continuously during the assigned shift.
- Ability to bend, kneel/squat, twist/turn, reach above shoulder, and type/keyboard frequently during the assigned shift.
- Ability to work designated 12 hour shift including overtime as required.
