Job Responsibilities:
Position Overview

  • Function as a Shop Assistant learning manufacturing and prototype concepts.
  • Provide housekeeping duties as needed.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate machines as qualified
  • Lift, position, and remove work pieces from machines to assist in fitting and welding.
  • Load, stack, and transport stock, tools, dies, and work in process by hand or truck.
  • Cleas and scrape metal preparatory to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping.
  • Pick up scrap from work areas.
  • Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Load and unloadsproduction machinery per posted instructions.
  • Make visual safety inspections at start of shift and records on appropriate checklist.
  • Report any abnormality of parts or machinery to the Supervisor or Lead hand.
  • Change to other machines or jobs as requested by the Supervisor or Lead hand.
  • Handle any other reasonable requests made by the Supervisor or Management.


Qualifications:

  • Some related experience preferred
  • Highly motivated to work, learn, and teach.


Education / Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • Currently Attending a College or University


Special Knowledge / Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong technical and analytical competence in select areas of technology.
