About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Product UX Designer to join our team and help shape the user experience for SUSE Rancher Manager and its associated applications. As a key member of the Product Design team, you will collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to create intuitive and efficient user experiences that empower developers and operators working with Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.This role requires a deep understanding of user-centric design, technical workflows, and cloud-native ecosystems. Key Responsibilities

1. User Research & Analysis
Conduct user research to understand user needs, pain points, and workflows for Kubernetes administrators, developers, and operators.
Develop user personas, journey maps, and workflows to inform product design.
Analyze feedback and usage data to iterate and improve the user experience.

2. UX Design & Prototyping
Design intuitive interfaces and workflows for managing Kubernetes clusters, workloads, and applications.
Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and detailed interaction designs for web-based platforms and tools.
Ensure designs align with Rancher’s visual language and design principles.

3. Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with product managers to align on feature requirements and prioritize design initiatives.
Collaborate with front-end and back-end engineers to ensure design feasibility and implementation fidelity.
Advocate for user-centric design principles across teams and stakeholders.

4. Usability Testing & Iteration
Plan and execute usability tests to validate design solutions.
Gather qualitative and quantitative feedback to continuously refine and improve designs.

5. Documentation & Standards
Maintain and contribute to Rancher’s design system and UX guidelines.
Document design decisions and workflows for team alignment and onboarding.

Qualifications

Required

Proven experience in UX design for complex software applications, preferably in DevOps, cloud-native, or SaaS environments.
Strong portfolio showcasing user research, interaction design, and visual design skills.
Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
Familiarity with HTML/CSS and the ability to collaborate effectively with developers.
Understanding of Kubernetes, containerization, and cloud-native technologies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred

Experience designing tools or platforms for technical users, such as developers or system administrators.
Knowledge of information architecture, accessibility standards, and responsive design.
Familiarity with Rancher, SUSE, or other Kubernetes management platforms.
Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira.
