Position Overview:
The Product Test Engineer is responsible for the testing and validation (T&V) of the product releases, enhancement and patches releases included. Working closely with the Senior Product Test Engineer and Product Manager, they are responsible for delivering a high quality system to our client (endpoint’s internal OPS teams).
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for testing through the entire lifecycle of a project, including test case development, execution and verification.
- Tracking and reporting software defects, along with verifying resolved issues in ticket tracking application.
- Assist in on-going process improvement for test case management.
- Manages defects and reports testing status to product development teams and Lead Product Test Engineer.
- Provide the product development teams with testing progress and continuous risk assessment during the Testing phase.
- Support validation efforts by acquiring evidence during testing phase, as well as generating validation reports at cycle end.
- Follow all current processes (Standard Operating Procedures and Working Instructions) for T&V cycle in Product Development
- Proactively works to understand the major components of the product through training and project assignments.
- Displays commitment to excellence and quality.
- Create and execute test cases.
- Document traceability between testing, system requirements, and product requirements documentation in a timely manner.
- Complete all testing deliverables at the end of the testing cycle.
- Demonstrate efficient and accurate completion of all responsibilities.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent and/or appropriate experience
Experience:
- 2-4 years’ experience working in software development or software testing/ Quality Assurance.
- Strong ability to understand technical software concepts and comfortable interacting with databases.
- An excruciatingly high-level of attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and a proven ability to multi-task.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of professionals.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment preferred.
- Prior experience testing voice (IVR) web (IWR) and mobile (IMR) platforms a big plus.
