Position Overview 

As the Product owner, you will be responsible for representing business needs and translating them to technical requirements. As a part of the product management team, you will be the key bridge between business and technology to successfully transition product vision to deliverable outcomes. You will oversee applications, responsible for evaluating work generated by a software scrum team. During evaluations, the product owner will match and prioritize the features and functionality of the product to obtain maximum performance to the benefit of the end user. Other duties include scheduling and leading meetings to identify product issues, determining roadmaps for products and managing daily goals and schedules to achieve high performance and meet project deadlines. Build and maintain backlog of stories/features to support the product roadmap and work closely with product to ensure synchronization of product initiatives to backlog activities. Managing and communicating system application updates effectively to stakeholders is critical for success of this role. 

What you’ll do


    • Act as the interpreter between non-technology and technology groups regarding business requirements and system capabilities  
    • Understand and translate the product vision into standard SDLC requirement documentation (via BRDs, process flows, epics, features, stories) to ensure development team’s understanding of the problem statement and business need  
    • Build and maintain a backlog of stories/features to support the product roadmap and work closely with product to ensure synchronization of product initiatives to backlog features/stories  
    • Manage and communicate system application updates to stakeholders  
    • Document application functionality & perform validation checks to ensure business requirement/design specifications alignments  
    • Play a leading role for the team in fulfilling Agile software development efforts including: 
    • Lead requirements gathering effort on the epics, as needed — consulting with product management, implementations, clients, and other stakeholders.  
    • Document story details based on the epics in coordination with development. 
    • Attend scrum meetings including standups, retrospectives, and demos. 
    • Participate in or lead backlog grooming to decompose and estimate stories 
    • Create mockups and works with UX on design 
    • Answer questions from developers and clarify requirements 
    • Document the new feature for implementations and release notes 
    • Write business user acceptance criteria  
    • Demonstrate the latest iterations to customers (pre-release) and gather feedback  
    • Participate in integration/UAT test plan development and result review prior to functionality release 
    • Promote cross-team collaboration in the development of software, tools and processes to drive continuous improvement in product quality and operational excellence 
    • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to ensure the optimal design and delivery of solutions 
    • Active involvement in all stages of the project life cycle to ensure that the solution fulfils business requirements 
    • Participate in triaging technical and functional issues and recommending solutions
    • Perform detailed data analysis as needed and present findings to the team and management

    What we’re looking for


    • Bachelor’s degree preferably in related field preferred OR equivalent years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree  
    • Experience in Transportation/Tolling industry or Automotive Industry is a plus
    • Managed client/vendor relationships with a goal of working collaboratively on joint solutions
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the following:  
    • Participating in large-scale strategic and multi-faceted projects with a proven ability to meet delivery deadlines and deliver required functionality  
    • Experience with Agile methodology Business System Analyst  
    • Previous experience updating an existing system  
    • Creating business use cases and business process diagrams and flows  
    • Gathering and documenting business/technical requirements 
    • business process and requirements analysis including documenting asis and designing to-be business processes 
    • Strong ability to build credibility, organize effectively, solve problems quickly and communicate clearly  
    • Demonstrated agility and ability to navigate complex environment  
    • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority 
    • Experience with Azure DevOps server and aha tool (preferred)  
    • Advanced skills with MS Office tools: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
