About the Opportunity:

First Help Financial, voted and certified as a "" for the third year in a row is seeking a Product Owner Intern to join our highly skilled and innovative team. First Help Financial is embarking on a new growth phase involving multiple game-changing projects. To fuel such innovation, we are seeking a full-time, Product Owner Intern to enhance our team focusing on technology-driven solutions for the auto loan industry. Candidates should have experience in the financial sector, expertise in Scrum, and the capability to work effectively with software development teams. This position involves writing high-quality specifications, working closely with the engineering team to provide business context, and meeting overall Product Owner responsibilities. Experience as a Business Analyst in a related field would be beneficial.

What you will do:

Your duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on the product to develop a comprehensive understanding of its features and intricacies.
  • Work with the product and analytics teams to define and measure KPIs on software deliverables.
  • Work with the product and business team to update and create documentation.
  • Work with a broader product and design team to understand and develop the product strategy in the automotive finance technology space.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand and integrate their needs into product development.
  • Partner with software development teams to ensure smooth execution of product features.
  • Draft clear and concise product specifications.
  • Serve as a liaison between business needs and technical solutions by gathering requirements from stakeholders, communicating them to the technical team, and assisting in prioritizing these requirements.
  • Work with UI/UX team to help design the user experience.

What you bring:

  • Pursuing a Master's degree (at the time of internship) in Computer Science or a related field
  • Exposure to web application development and SQL Databases
  • Experience in creating user stories that accurately capture user needs and guide the development of features and functionalities
  • Knowledge of Scrum and Agile methodologies
  • Attention to detail working with Product management and stakeholders translating to full-fledged requirements
  • Good documentation capabilities
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to execute in a fast paced and changing technical environment
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Prior knowledge of the financial domain is preferred
