Role Overview


Our Enterprise Productivity Segment solutions connect the fuel supply chain from the

rack and the truck to the POS and back office, all the way to the consumer. This

enables customers to streamline their operations to save time, increase revenues,

decrease costs, and automate key processes through Financial, Consumer

Payments & Loyalty, Sustainability, Convenience Retail, Petroleum Wholesale ERP,

Point-of-Sale, Logistics, and Fuel Pricing Solutions.


PDI is seeking an experienced Technical Product Owner to join our Enterprise

Productivity team and drive operational excellence through process automation

and continuous improvement initiatives. In this role, you will work closely with internal

business stakeholders and technology teams to understand current processes,

identify opportunities for optimization, and translate requirements into actionable

software solutions.


As a Technical Product Owner, you will be responsible for managing the product

backlog, facilitating agile ceremonies, and ensuring that development efforts align

with PDI's strategic goals. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including

operations, IT, engineering, and support, to streamline workflows, increase efficiency,

and enhance the overall employee experience.

initiatives, automating manual processes, and implementing innovative solutions

areas of process automation, workflow optimization, and agile product delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with system users (customers, partners, consulting) to understand product needs and translate them into actionable user stories.
  • Manage the team backlog in Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools such as Aha!, Jira, or Azure DevOps.
  • Stay aligned with product management on product vision, roadmaps, and priorities.
  • Ensure that product backlogs are prioritized and properly balanced between new product features and maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct backlog refinement meetings, sprint reviews, and product demos.
  • Attend sprint planning meetings and collaborate with the team to define sprint goals.
  • Regularly collaborate with the team to review output during sprints, answer questions about desired functionality/outcomes.
  • Guide the Scrum teams in breaking down user stories and defining acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure the team has an appropriate number of stories in the backlog, prepared for sprint planning, and monitor the team's velocity.
  • Work closely with the Support team to understand and prioritize customer reported issues.

Qualifications

  • 2 - 4 years of experience working as a business analyst, product manager, product owner or similar role
  • At least 2 years of experience working as a Scrum product owner
  • Has some experience working on Reporting Dashboards and Data Analytics
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a desire to help others and take action
  • Requires strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms
  • Ability to independently work as a contributing member in a high-paced and focused team
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with competing deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to socialize ideas and influence decisions without direct authority
  • Collaborative in nature with a strong desire to dig in and learn independently and as well as through asking questions
  • Considers ‘best-practice’ standards, as well as departmental policies and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Understanding of product and sprint backlog tracking, burn-down metrics, velocity, and work breakdowns
  • Understands the fundamentals of software development processes and procedures
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
