Product Marketing Manager

About the role:

Are you looking to join a high-growth B2B software company that is changing the Software Development Lifecycle? Do you have a passion for product marketing and enthusiasm to learn about new technologies? SmartBear is seeking a highly motivated Product Marketing Manager to join the global Product Marketing team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has a technical foundation or experience and wants to play a bigger role driving overall business strategy while staying close to products, technology, and customers.

The role will support two distinct products—each with different user personas, value propositions, and go-to-market motions—requiring an adaptable marketer who can quickly switch contexts, think strategically, and collaborate across cross-functional teams.

If you thrive in navigating complexity and enjoy storytelling across technical domains—from quality assurance to software performance and observability—this role offers the opportunity to have real business impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define & Execute GTM Strategy: Develop and implement go-to-market strategies for two SmartBear products, including cross-product solutions.
  • Craft Compelling Messaging: Create product positioning that resonates with target personas, driven by deep customer and market insights.
  • Drive Product Launches: Lead the planning and execution of product launches, ensuring alignment across marketing, sales, product, and partner teams.
  • Enable Sales & Partners: Develop sales enablement materials, including presentations, battle cards, and competitive analysis, to help teams effectively communicate product value.
  • Create Engaging Content: Produce high-impact content such as blog posts, webinars, eBooks, and whitepapers to support demand generation and customer education.
  • Industry Thought Leadership: Represent SmartBear at industry events, engage with analysts, press, and influencers, and contribute to positioning SmartBear as a leader in the space.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with Product, Sales, and Marketing teams to ensure consistent and effective messaging across all channels.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Product Marketing or a related role (e.g., Solutions Marketing, Sales Engineering, Content Marketing, Growth Marketing, or Technical Marketing) in a B2B technology environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English, and the ability to clearly articulate technical capabilities and product value, as well as experience delivering presentations at the leadership level.
  • Strong project management and collaboration skills and the ability to work in a global, cross-functional team environment, including flexibility to align with US business hours when needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple products or business lines simultaneously, ideally across differing levels of technical complexity and buyer personas, with the ability to comfortably context switch and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for technology and a desire to become a subject matter expert in software testing and app observability. Must feel comfortable demonstrating the product to customer and sales.
  • Adaptable and strategic thinker who can pivot as business needs evolve, align product capabilities with emerging market trends, and translate insights into differentiated go-to-market strategies that drive customer value.
  • Experience creating differentiated messaging for a range of personas, from hands-on practitioners to executive decision-makers.

Why you should join the SmartBear crew:

  • You can grow your career at every level.
  • We invest in your success as well as the spaces where our teams come together to work, collaborate, and have fun.
  • We love celebrating our SmartBears; we even encourage our crew to take their birthdays off.
