About the Position:
The Product Marketing Director is responsible for developing and executing go-to-market strategies that drive awareness, adoption and growth of our data center solutions. This role will be a part of the Marketing team and will lead positioning, messaging and competitive differentiation efforts, ensuring our value proposition resonates with key customer segments. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely across Marketing and with Product Management, Engineering, Sales Operations and Customer Experience to create compelling content, sales enablement materials and demand generation initiatives. With a deep understanding of the data center industry, market trends and customer needs, this leader will play a critical role in accelerating our growth.
What you do daily:
- Develop market and customer insights
- Develop market research for our products and services
- Understand buyer personas and buyer life cycles for targeted products
- Enhance competitive intelligence
- Detailed competitive analysis to inform the Product team and roadmap
- Product-focused competitive positioning and market segmentation
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams on product roadmaps
- Develop go-to-market strategy for products
- Planning of product launches in partnership with Field Marketing to launch new products or key features
- Support for demand generation efforts for product campaigns
- Create product-level positioning, value propositions and messaging
- Develop key product-level positioning, value propositions and messaging, including management of Product team stakeholders and any executive team reviews and approvals
- Ensure consistent messaging across all content (website, sales materials, campaigns, etc.)
- Create a formal process for the development, editing and finalization of positioning and messaging documents, including the input and review process for key stakeholders and establishing a repository for access to final documents
- Lead the development of product content
- Content to include collateral, website pages, sales education, other materials as needed
- Aid in the development of sales enablement
- Development of sales playbooks for products
- Collaborate with Product and Sales Ops to support consistent messaging across New Hire and ongoing sales training
- Thought leadership
- Customer advocacy
- Build relationships with customers to leverage insights for marketing initiatives, thought leadership and content (case studies, testimonials, etc)
- Metrics and reporting
- Define and track metrics to measure the success of product marketing initiatives (e.g., product adoption, promotions, lead conversion)
- Use data to refine strategies and demonstrate ROI
- Position Cologix as a leader in the industry through speaking engagements and content contributions
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends to inform strategy
What makes you a good fit: (Qualifications)
- 8+ years experience in B2B tech marketing with functional experience in Product Marketing, Product Management, Sales Enablement, Technical Marketing
- Expertise in data center, cloud, telecom or digital infrastructure industries
- Strong understanding of colocation, interconnection, cloud and enterprise IT infrastructure
- Expertise in developing compelling product value propositions, messaging and differentiation for technical B2B audiences
- Experience leading GTM strategy for new product launches, including market segmentation, competitive positioning and sales enablement
- Ability to conduct market research, analyze competitors, and translate insights into differentiated messaging and strategy
- Experience partnering with demand generation and digital marketing teams to identify target audiences and develop campaigns that drive leads and pipeline growth
- Proficiency in using analytics, customer insights and KPIs to measure product marketing effectiveness and optimize strategy
- Up-to-date with the latest products and trends in the data center industry
- Familiar with Salesforce and leveraging this tool for insights
- Ability to prioritize requests and manage multiple projects simultaneously and according to deadlines
- Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and collaborate with key internal stakeholders
- Thrive in a cross-functional, collaborative environment in which you work with a variety of people to be successful. Willing to take direction from colleagues and to operate as a team
