The  Product Manager is responsible for identifying gaps in the marketplace that can be filled by product(s) that align with FTI’s long range model. This individual will drive the entire product life cycle, starting with research and development, to sales and marketing support for product launch, sales support, price management to ensure profitability, and product performance management and optimization.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor of Science in Business, Engineering, or Technology

Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in product engineering, application engineering, product management, or sales and/or marketing of a technical product.
  • Technical understanding of the market.
  • Experience in people management and leading teams.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and interpret technical information.

Preferred but not required:

  • MBA or advanced degree in engineering or technology.
  • 10+ years product management experience.

Travel: Up to 15%

Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads end-to-end strategy and operational product roadmap for a product or product portfolio.
  • Conducts focused market research to identify needs in the market, including required product capabilities, market trends, market size and market pricing.
  • Builds relationships with customers, suppliers, and industry organizations to stay up to date on industry trends and developments.
  • Builds relationships with internal partners, engineering, project management, supply chain, and strategic marketing to drive the product development process to develop new products or improve existing products.
  • Creates and manages Product Requirements Documents (PRD) for each product in development to effectively communicate the requirements to all other parties involved in the development process.
  • Plans and executes product launch strategies, including product marketing and training to support sales organization and customers.
  • Supports the sales team with training, sales support tools, product demonstration, and customer interaction as necessary.
  • Develops pricing strategies to ensure profitability.
  • Analyzes product costs and margins to identify areas for cost savings and growth.
  • Monitors product performance, voice of the customer feedback, and sales data to identify areas for adjustments to go to market strategy.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
