Overview
We are seeking a hardworking and experienced Product Manager to own the A11y Tester product area, with a focus on mobile application testing. This role will drive innovation and perfection, ensuring our tools empower organizations to deliver inclusive digital experiences. We are looking for the ideal candidate who will have a strong technical background, expertise in mobile app testing, and a dedication to accessibility!
Responsibilities
- Product Knowledge: Develop a comprehensive understanding of the product, including its role in solving accessibility challenges for mobile applications and the value it brings to customers.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Leverage data and insights to guide product decisions and define the analysis required for informed decision-making.
- Product Ownership: Act as the product owner for key tools.
- Innovation: Identify and explore new use cases for mobile accessibility testing, iterating quickly towards MVPs and conducting in-market testing.
- Vision and Strategy: Contribute significantly to the strategy, focusing on advancing a11y testing for mobile platforms.
- User Interaction: Engage with users to understand their needs, collect feedback, and develop hypotheses for new opportunities.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate daily with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams to align product vision and execution strategies.
- Market Trends: Stay informed about trends in accessibility and mobile app testing within enterprise environments.
- Product Delivery: Drive product delivery from concept to release maturity, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years in technical roles, with at least 4 years in product management.
- Product Management Fundamentals: Understanding of product management principles with a curiosity about mentoring.
- Focus on Shipping: Shown ability to ship products and experiment with early adopters in the market.
- Education: BSc or equivalent experience in computer science, business or related fields
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of software development lifecycles, APIs, integration standard methodologies, and mobile platform nuances.
- User Interviews: Skilled in conducting user interviews to deeply understand problems and needs.
- Product Lifecycle: Validated experience taking products from ideation to launch with measurable success metrics.
- Communication Skills: Excellent ability to present complex ideas clearly while actively listening to different perspectives.
- Early-Stage Development: Comfortable working in early-stage environments with rapid hypothesis testing and iteration.
- Mobile Testing Expertise: Experience leading or developing tools.
Nice to Have
- Accessibility Regulations: Familiarity with digital accessibility regulations (e.g., Section 508, ADA).
- WCAG Requirements: Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA requirements as they apply to mobile applications.
- Diverse Personas: Experience using diverse personas to influence product design decisions.
- Mobile Development/QA Experience: Background as a mobile app developer or Mobile QA automation engineer.
- Accessible Design Expertise: Experience designing accessible experiences.
- Conformance Testing Tools: Familiarity with tools used for accessibility conformance testing on iOS and Android platforms.
