Cloudera is looking for a product manager for the Operational Database team to focus on Search including OpenSearch and Apache Solr/Lucene. Cloudera operational database is cloud-native operational database with unparalleled scale, performance, and reliability. This is a highly visible role that will have a lasting impact on the strategic direction of the company and customer success.
As product manager you will be responsible for all product lifecycle activities from vision to implementation, including customer development, product strategy and roadmap, coordination with engineering, marketing, business development, and substantial pre- and post-sales field engagement. We need a product leader to expand the Search capabilities taking Cloudera Operational Database to the next level.

As a Product Manager you will:

Create and execute a vision and product strategy that appeals to the unique needs and requirements of Cloudera Operational Database customers

Manage the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical execution

Define product requirements based on knowledge of the specific market segments, customers problems, and existing product capabilities

Drive field enablement, working to ensure that solution engineers and account executives have what they need to successfully sell to new customers and expand use cases at existing customers

Work directly with customers on the front line to help drive adoption and consumption growth

Build relationships with key customer stakeholders to gain trust and ensure that we remain laser focused on the customers’ experience

Identify new opportunities for Cloudera to innovate on behalf of our customers

Support sales teams, leading calls with key customers to ensure all parties have confidence in Cloudera’s capabilities today and in the future to meet their operational big data processing needs

Establish goals and review metrics to prove the effectiveness of the delivered capabilities

Work closely with our sales, engineering, documentation and partner teams to define success and win together

Ability to operate at high bandwidth, context switching regularly across multiple work streams

Technical and business acumen to interface with teams of all levels and disciplines within an organization, from engineers to senior leadership

Understanding of big data processing concepts and techniques
-
Conceptual and practical expertise with database management systems - e.g. query optimization, ACID, indexes, data modeling, etc
-
Knowledge of distributed data systems - e.g. consistency, CAP theorem, performance optimization, etc.

3+ years in product management
-
5+ years of industry experience in the big data processing industry

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
You may also have…

MBA, or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

Understanding of Kubernetes concepts, architectures, tooling, etc
-
Experience working with OpenSearch and/or Apache Solr/Lucene
-
Deep knowledge of either AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Ability to design an end-to-end architecture for a data solution in the analytics space
