About the Role
As the Product Manager for Reference Monitors & Headphones you will be a product and market expert who assists the Global Product Management team in managing all aspects of the product life cycle process for the HARMAN professional reference monitor and headphone product portfolio. You will contribute to developing portfolio strategies in line with the long-term strategic vision for this segment and have an in-depth working technical knowledge of these products and their application.
You will be expected to conduct market research, generate documentation for product requirements, specifications and pricing. You will draft business plans and provide technical and logistical support for a Reference Monitors & Headphones product portfolio. Will need to be able to assist, lead and liaise (as required) with other internal teams including Sales, R&D, Engineering, Customer Service, Applications Support, Marketing, and Management teams, as well as with staff located in other regions of the world and external customers in several time zones.
What You Will Do

Assists in championing products from concept through development, launch, promotion, mid-life, and EOL, working closely with other stakeholders including engineering, project team, application specialists, sales, and marketing.

Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and technical performance, appraising new product ideas, preparing business cases, conducting ROI analysis, and drafting/editing product concept documents.

Influences product pricing by utilizing market research data, reviewing production and sales costs, and forecasts sales by consolidating input from global regional sales organizations.

Develops and accesses market research into competitors and their products as well as establishing customer requirements and understanding the demands of their applications.

Participates in cross-functional project management teams for the professional reference monitor and headphone market, including availability for periodic evening conference calls with team members located in the Asia region.

Uses information and expertise to work with Sales and Marketing Communication to inform strategy to gain product market share.

Provides technical training and product support to sales staff, application specialists, customer service, and others.

Providing product marketing support for promotions, trade shows and sales events.

Assists in setting up customer demonstrations and internal listening sessions.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
What You Need
-
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical area such as electronics or marketing or equivalent experience.

The role requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in product management for audio related products; studio reference monitors and headphone experience preferred.

In depth knowledge of professional commercial and installation loudspeaker products market and commercial audio system applications.

Deep product application knowledge and understanding of full-system audio solutions in the project and professional market, as well as commercial and installation markets.

Strong written communication and group presentation skills for internal and external audiences

Ability to work in global matrixed organization and communicate at all levels

To complete the demands of the role, this person must:

Have experience writing detailed and sound business plans and product specifications.

Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to vary their personal style to different audiences including sales and marketing team members, R&D project teams, and end-users.

Proven negotiating and motivational skills involved in resourcing projects for new products.

What is Nice to Have
-
Experience in recording studios, post-production, commercial radio, TV, theater production or live event production in an engineering or production capacity is strongly preferred

Experience with modern content creation, podcasting, video blogging, streaming or gaming

Solutions selling experience preferred

Business travel experience, domestic and international

Musical ability and/or performance experience

Fluency in Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase or other popular DAW software platform

Salary Ranges:
$ 129,750 - $ 190,300
