Role overview
CarGurus is seeking a Product Manager, Competitive & Market Intelligence to lead the development of innovative reporting and insights tools that empower auto dealers with a deeper understanding of their local markets and competitive landscape. This role will be pivotal in shaping the dealer experience by providing data-driven guidance that helps them make more informed business decisions.
In this role, you'll work closely with Engineering, Data Science, Product Data Analytics, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to deliver scalable, insightful, and intuitive market intelligence solutions. What you'll do
- Own the vision and roadmap for dealer-facing market intelligence products, including competitor benchmarking, pricing insights, inventory trends, and local market dynamics.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Data Science and Product Data Analytics teams to translate complex models and data sets into intuitive reporting tools and dashboards.
- Drive the development of localized and personalized insights that help dealers optimize pricing, inventory mix, and advertising strategies.
- Partner with Sales and Customer Success teams to gather feedback, validate use cases, and ensure solutions meet real-world dealer needs.
- Ensure roadmap prioritization aligns with business goals, user pain points, and strategic initiatives.
Maintain high levels of engagement with stakeholders through roadmaps, presentations, and frequent updates. - Advocate for data quality and consistency, ensuring reliable and actionable insights for dealers.
- Collaborate with go-to-market teams on training, enablement, and messaging to support adoption.
What you'll bring
- 3+ years of product management experience, including building data-driven or analytics-focused products.
- Experience delivering reporting, dashboards, or insights to external customers, ideally in a B2B or marketplace environment.
- Strong understanding of data visualization best practices, and a track record of translating analytics into customer-facing tools.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Data Science, and GTM teams.
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholders with different priorities.
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to drive clarity and progress in a matrixed organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in the automotive, retail, or marketplace space is a plus.
