At Guild, we uphold our Core Values in everything we do.  Our team emphasizes our Core Values in the following ways:

  • Nurture A Learner’s Mindset - using a combination of feedback and reflection to gain productive insight into personal strengths and development areas
  • Build Shared Success - building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • Be an Owner - holding self and others accountable to meet commitments
  • Create Belonging - recognizing the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to our company

Guild is hiring an Ops and Quality Manager to join our small and scrappy Product Expansion team. In this role, you will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of builders (Engineers, Designers and PMs) to launch new products with the collective goal of accelerating Guild’s mission and expanding Guild’s opportunity and impact. You will report to the VP, Strategy & Operations and work closely with our Product Managers and Engineers. We anticipate that this role will be a pathway into engineering, product management or similar disciplines over time and strongly support engaging in formal learning during your time on the team as you grow your career.

Your role will be focused on three areas:

  • Product and Operational Quality: Lead the quality assurance efforts across our several product development teams to ensure the highest standards of quality are met before product and partner releases. This role involves developing and implementing QA strategies, marshaling QA support from across Guild and 3rd party testing platforms, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, design, and centralized Guild operations teams.
  • Product Operations: Support end-to-end quality of all products, ensuring that they meet functional and performance requirements, are free of defects, and provide a consistent user experience
  • Team Operations: Ensure the full Product Expansion team runs smoothly by helping to drive operational excellence including managing team planning, operationalize team functions as we scale, tracking best practices and coordinating team meetings and offsite events

You are right for this role if you crave learning by doing, enjoy iteratively improving the performance and results of the product operations and quality strategies you create as you learn more efficient and scalable technologies, and are focused on developing and then streamlining manual processes so you and your colleagues can focus on higher value-add work.

As a Manager of Ops and Quality, we expect you to be:

  • Scrappy and humble: As a small team, we all pitch in and do what is necessary. We have tight deadlines and big dreams so we can't afford to be rigid about our roles
  • Hyper organized: This is not a job for someone who glosses over the details
  • Product minded: Have a good sense for product experience
  • Collaborative: There are resources all over the place and we try to get creative about how we fill needs and are looking for someone who can help inspire others around the company to join our mission of building new products.
  • Love of team: As someone who will sit in the center of the team (through the "team Ops" function), we need some one who loves community and thinks about how to make thriving teams

You are a strong fit for this role if you have:

Required Competencies

  • Proven track record of organizational skills
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong personal growth mindset - this is a team built on high learning velocity in everything we do

Preferred Competencies

  • Proven experience with manual and automated testing techniques, tools, and processes.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup or product-driven environment

Noteworthy Requirements

  • While this is a remote-friendly role, we gather as a team (typically in Colorado) 2-3x/quarter

We feel passionately about equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one vehicle to achieve that. We are committed to providing opportunities that align with our larger company strategy of Career Mobility. We believe that skills are transferable and value candidates that have a passion for our mission and a learner’s mindset. If you don’t have 100% of the qualifications but can see yourself doing a great job, we invite you to apply.
