What does the internship program entail?

The individual hired in this position will be an intern working with IPC’s award-winning products. The person will be tasked with the completion of an intern project which will provide value to the team and field support personnel. The candidate must have a strong technical aptitude as well as excellent communication skills.  This person must be passionate about technology and stay up to date on the latest trends. 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing a software solution with high quality and maintainability. The scope of the internship is:

• Adding new features to an existing testing and diagnostic tool to make it easier to use, more secure, able to traverse firewalls and Nat’s, and add safe diagnostic abilities to it.
• Learn how to work in a professional environment and how to work in a team.
• Learning how to be able to learn things quickly on the job.

Essential Skills and Experience to be Successful in the Role:

• • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and will be comfortable reaching out for help from teammates when needed. The candidate should not be afraid to reach out with questions to teammates.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills, including the ability to look for performant problem solutions (memory and execution time).
    • Technologies that would be a plus.
      • Web Sockets
      • C++ or Rust.
      • Experience with Qt and QML.
      • Git
        
        • • Experience programming embedded systems
          • Solid understanding of multithreading and concurrency
          • Unit/Integration/mock testing knowledge with frameworks like gtest and gmock or equivalent.
          • Wamp Protocol

Your precise work schedule will be determined by you, your Line Manager and HR before commencement of your internship program with IPC.
