In this key role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that the Cadence Palladium and Protium product development and release to manufacturing process flows meet the company’s demanding mission critical reliability and quality expectations.
Position reports to: Product Engineering Manager
Location: San Jose, CA
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Drive Manufacturing Build and Test at the Rack and System level.
- Drive the Release to Manufacturing process on new Cadence products.
- Create new product build/assemble/test procedures and processes and implement them.
- Evaluate Design Validation Testing (ensure RTM deliverables).
- Participate with System Validation Testing at Cadence and with our contract manufacturers.
- Support compliance testing to completion.
- Drive completion of all procedures and process documents for assembling and testing of next generation Cadence products at the designated contract manufacturers.
- Provide complete scope of analysis and solutions to problems, not just complete tasks.
- Support DFM and the resolution of all manufacturing-oriented design issues.
- Work with System Manufacturing Test Engineer to produce manufacturing level tests.
- Drive correlation between system test and test cells from the system end.
- Manage the following:
- Prototype and pre-production builds and test at CM’s including ensuring correct technical content.
- Early manufacturing issues/problems at contract manufacturers
- Drive closure on ALL the deliverables required for Release to Manufacturing.
- Develop and manage the development of scalable and automated assembly and test processes, test fixtures, and any other processes or equipment that needs to be implemented for the efficient production and testing of products and to insure the highest levels of quality can be achieved and maintained.
Minimum Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with test cell development and support.
- Experience working with Contract Manufacturers.
- Capability to drive development of custom tools for field and manufacturing us.
- Experience on system level products from prototype through manufacturing release.
- Experience with complex, multi-level BOMs.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Independent, hard-working, creative, focused organized, ability to work within a start-up team on multiple projects concurrently.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, test flows and new product introduction is desirable.
- Computer skills to include: MS Word, Excel, Access & generic Electronic and Mechanical CAD.
- Able to read and work from schematics and device data sheets
Highly Desirable Knowledge/Experience:
- Previous experience with liquid cooled computer systems.
- Previous experience with high density Optical and Network test processes including Infiniband and ROCE2.
- Previous experience with high density press fit backplanes.
- Experience with Cadence SPB tools (Allegro, Orcad)
- Previous experience with high density Optical manufacturing processes including installing, cleaning, repairing, and testing.
- Understanding of electrical power distribution (single phase, 3 phase).
- Hands on experience working with piping/hoses.
- Experience with PLM tools like Arena or Agile.
- Comfortable with Linux environment: admin level tools, and software development tools, scripts.
Authorization to work in U.S. is required.
The annual salary range for California is $84,000 to $156,000. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
