Product Development Specialist
Responsibilities:
• Designs, develops, and implements cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment for all phases of product development and manufacturing.
• Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products.
• Plans the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices.
• Tests experimental models under simulated operating conditions for purposes of development, standardization, and feasibility of design.
• Develop and apply standards for reliability, contamination, and platform/process stability to meet customer expectations.
• Develop and execute test plans in the above areas.
• Gather operational and test data; evaluate and document test results for use by internal and external customers.
• Perform failure analysis and root cause identification.
• Work closely with engineering to implement and test solutions for performance and reliability issues.
• Document procedures for preventative maintenance to maximize tool availability.
• As an individual contributor, may be responsible for project execution and coordination.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Duties will very according to the project progress and/or the specific goals of the division.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings
- Experience working with high-voltage systems preferred.
- Familiarity with ion optics, high-vacuum systems preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Conditions
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 pounds. This position also requires 4 to 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.
