The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Mid-level Product Development Analyst to join our Personal Lines Auto Product, Design, Build and Modernization team.
In this role you will be accountable for analyzing performance across the product development life cycle. Support Product Development team and partners with other Centers of Excellence (COEs) to compile, analyze and interpret data to make strategic and tactical product development recommendations. Be responsible for defining the business questions and providing insights to improve business performance.
This position can work remotely in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel.
What you'll do:
- Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
- Support the development of digital first products supporting the needs and risks of USAA Members.
- Provide analytical support to develop strategies, develop, launch and refine new innovative product offerings as well as auxiliary/enhanced features/services for existing products, including the evaluation and decision to buy/build or ally.
- Generate creative product and coverage solutions for member needs to ensure a dynamic product development pipeline exists.
- Compile internal and external data and member information to support formulation of product strategy and enhance competitive intelligence.
- Compile data to support monitoring, maintenance and underwriting of existing “new in market” products based on product performance, member needs and competitive changes in the market including but not limited to product rules, rates, and forms.
- Analyze and evaluate new product performance metrics to adapt offerings, if necessary, prior to full launch.
- Coordinate with relevant control partners (to include Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management) to ensure product offerings are designed and implemented in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
What you have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Statistics, or related discipline; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- 4 years relevant experience in Actuary, Underwriting, Marketing, Operations, Financial Services or relevant military experience.
- Experience conducting research, compiling and analyzing data.
- Demonstrated experience supporting product and/or integrated suite of products.
- Understanding of Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC).
What sets you apart:
- Property & Casualty Personal Lines experience, particularly in one or more key functions (Ideally Product Management, Pricing, Underwriting or competitive intelligence etc.)
- Experience with product or technology transformation in the P&C industry
- Data analytics experience and the ability to demonstrate the skills for pulling data as well as analyzing trends to make recommendations to leadership
- Knowledge of SAS, SQL, Tableau, or similar software
- Demonstrated Bias for Action in an environment of ambiguity
- US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner

What we offer:
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $85,040 - $162,550.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
