The Product Developer will work closely with the Product Development Manager, factory partners, and raw material suppliers to ensure that all product designs have been scrutinized for functional design details, manufacturing viability, and adherence to Mystery Ranch brand and quality standards. They will be responsible for the development and maintenance of all product specifications, as well as the on-going management of all prototype and pre-production approval samples during the product development process.
Responsibilities:
· Ensure that designs are audited for construction & manufacturing efficiencies, adherence to design brief requirements, Mystery Ranch design traditions and quality standards, and any and all functional and/or commercial prerequisites.
· Actively collaborate with designers and the Product Manager on implementing proposed design changes.
· Create in-house prototypes of assigned designs and coordinate and manage the factory prototyping process to meet calendar requirements as defined by the Product Manager.
· Create BOMs in the PLM system and verify for accuracy – input and manage raw material & supplier information and audit for accuracy; ensure that factory BOMs are audited for 1:1 accuracy.
· Work closely with factories and the Technical Product team to ensure that design and product specifications are complete and thoroughly communicated to factory partners for accurate execution during the sampling and pre-production phases.
· Build perfect samples to be referenced by Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams; calculate sewing allowable minutes as needed; and translate construction procedures into easily understandable inspection criteria and instructions for the factory and Quality team.
· Assist in raw material sourcing. Coordinate with the Designer, Product Manager, and Advanced Development & Materials Engineer to ensure that all materials have been tested prior to adoption and meet Mystery Ranch “Fit for Use” requirements
· Work with Bozeman production team to oversee sample builds and to provide feedback on construction techniques
· Execute all assigned projects within established product development calendars and/or project requirements
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma, GED or higher
· Professional, respectful, and positive communication style and demeanor
· Strong desire to be involved with a team/s and work toward a common goal
· Ability to juggle multiple developments and calendars at once and to quickly adjust priorities
· High attention to detail
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in Product Development preferred
· Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, & Adobe Illustrator
Additional:
· Demonstrates initiative, is conscientious and provides complete follow-through on areas of responsibility
· Project Management skills a plus
This position is based in Bozeman, Montana.
