YOUR MISSION
As a Product Designer, you will be responsible for delivering novel design solutions for Mosaic, True Anomaly’s React-based software product for space superiority. Mosaic is a highly differentiated ground software system, purpose-built for on-orbit Command and Control (C2), Battle Management, training and testing use cases.
A successful candidate can keep an eye on the horizontal product experience while also owning the entire design lifecycle from research to precise execution. You will translate complex technical challenges and business outcomes into robust, performant interface solutions alongside engineers, operators, and product owners.
This a unique, high-impact opportunity to be a force multiplier within the Mosaic development team. As an early member of the Product Design team, you will have a direct impact on Mosaic product strategy, craft, and design culture at True Anomaly.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Balance end-to-end design efforts across different program milestones and internal product development initiatives
- Collaborate daily with product owners, software engineers, space operators, SMEs, and other stakeholders to design novel workflows and interfaces
- Continuously iterate on low to high-fidelity mockups and prototypes
- Contribute to and improve Mosaic’s design system + component library
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in product design/UX, preferably in fast-paced startup environments
- Portfolio work highlighting shipped, complex interface workflows
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellence in both visual and interaction design
- Expertise in modern design mockup tools (we use Figma)
- Awareness of how front-end interfaces are built (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript, etc.)
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience in space, industrial, gaming, or defense industries
- History of mentoring other designers and scaling team capabilities
COMPENSATION
- Colorado Base Salary: $125,000-$160,000
- California Base Salary: $135,000-$165,000
- Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work Location—while we observe a hybrid work environment, some work must be done on site at either our Denver or Long Beach facility.
- Work environment—the work environment; temperature, noise level, inside or outside, or other factors that will affect the person's working conditions while performing the job.
- Physical demands—the physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting and driving.
