Capco is looking for Product Designer with experience in the financial services to join our Innovation & Design practice.
About the Role
As a Product Designer, you will work hand-in-hand with technologists and analysts at Capco and our clients to create wireframes to map out framework of applications and create experiences that are competitive and user-friendly. When required, you will plan, conduct, and interpret primary and secondary design research data to inform the design direction of products, services, and experiences to ensure that user centred design principles are being applied. We collaborate constantly to share learnings and brainstorm solutions. You will also educate clients on the value of UX design and design research, and balance rigor with speed when delivering work.
Responsibilities:
- Design and create reusable components in Figma that can be used across the platform.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure designs are technically feasible and align with the platform's needs and standards.
- Perform Design QA on final product implementations to ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Write and maintain clear, concise documentation to guide other designers in using the designs system components effectively.
- Publish and update design libraries in Figma to ensure that components are readily accessible for all team members.
- Ensure that all new components meet WCAG standards for accessibility, promoting inclusivity and usability across the platform.
About You
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of industry experience in digital design role.
- Strong expertise in building Design Systems and Figma
- Previous experience building a design system and components (leading/owning and identifying needs, being proactive, identifying risks and mitigating, collaborating closely with devs in that work, etc.)
- Detail oriented, experience designing responsive web components
- Supporting WebBroker and Easy Trade platforms
- Personal experience or interest in self-directed investing is a plus but not required
- Strong online portfolio demonstrating a range of relevant work is essential.
- Experience in an agile team environment is a benefit.
- Proficient with industry standard tools (e.g. e.g. Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch).
- Strong communications skills to clearly articulate - and evangelize - solutions
- Solid understanding of user experience design principles.
- Strong organizational skills used to prioritize, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with creating interactive prototypes based on user flows.
- A creative imagination coupled with attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build good working relationships.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Apply usability & experience best practices to design and map out framework of applications, backed with findings through design research & ensuring that user centred design principles are being applied appropriately to create innovative solutions that meet user and business needs.
- An understanding of accessible design (A, AA, AAA standards) is a benefit.
- Expertise with usability testing, contextual inquiry, survey design, focus groups, card sorting, participatory design, and ethnographic methods, and familiarity with other user testing and research methodology.
- The ability to support a project from start to finish
- Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different user testing methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process
- The ability to think strategically and connect design thinking back to specific business use cases
- Strong influencing, negotiation and communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) with the ability to be a thought partner/coach to clients and internal team
Nice to have
- Experience working with large-scale data in mixed-method studies
- Working knowledge of statistics and experimental design
- Fluent with French language
- Experience in the financial services industry
