As a Product Designer within the Accessibility team of our Atlassian Design System, you will report to the Design Manager and collaborate with cross-functional peers. Your primary focus will in the delivery of our roadmap and developing solutions that empower the Atlassian Design System to achieve our accessibility goals.

- Collaborate with the Atlassian Design System team-including Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers-on the Accessibility program to scale accessible front-end experiences across products.
- Design and prototype accessible improvements for Design System components and patterns, creating clear and impactful demonstrations.
- Enhance resources and educational materials to support accessible design practices across the Atlassian Design department.
- Participate in vision-setting, roadmapping, design critiques, sprint planning, and other team rituals.
- Partner with Atlassian designers to test and refine the maker experience, boosting engagement and adoption of the design system.
Your background
- 2+ years of product design experience, bringing ideas to life in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- A basic understanding of accessibility principles, with a desire grow your knowledge in accessibility.
- Hands-on experience working with design systems or applying systems-thinking to create scalable and cohesive designs.
- Experience designing software that's shipped to users, working with Product and Engineering to bring features to life.
- A portfolio showcasing your experiences in typography, interaction and visual design, creating improved experiences, and idea generation.
- Comfortable using data to guide decisions, testing and iterating designs, and tracking success through measurable goals.
- Proficiency in Figma for creating design mockups, prototypes, and collaborative workflows.
- Experience collaborating with diverse teams in dynamic delivery.
- Storytelling skills to explain your ideas and the "why" behind your designs.
- Empathy for customers and teammates, with the ability to take feedback, iterate, and keep moving forward.
Desirable If You Have
- Certification from the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (AAP) or local equivalent.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards like WCAG, Accessibility testing tools and assistive technology like screen readers.
- Previous experience conducting user research or usability testing, with a focus on accessibility needs.
- Experience as part of a remote team, ensuring seamless collaboration across time zones.
