An Overview of This Role
Being the Product Design Manager for the Create team is a very exciting position. With millions of daily active users, our design work has a big impact on our users and our business. The teams are working on both refining the experience for our core functionality, while also innovating on new products and experiences.
What You’ll Do
- Work with a great team of designers on the foundation of our product.
- Collaborate with other design leaders to connect the Create UX with other parts of our product..
- Ensure that we bring a strong UX point of view to our work.
- Support your designers in developing long-term visions for their areas.
- Identifying and creating opportunities of growth for your designers.
- Develop a strong relationship with cross-functional counterparts to ensure that designers are in a position to succeed in their teams.
- Helping your team with understanding and implementing UX processes

About the team
The Create space is very exciting as you have such a diverse mix of teams and problem spaces.
In Source Code and Code Review, the team is working on the core of GitLab, and their experiences are used by millions of users daily. In Remote Development and Editor Extensions, we are building new products from the ground and are very focused on the IDE space.
Users of this space are passionate and oftentimes opinionated, and the cycle between shipping a new experience and getting feedback is very short, which can open many growth opportunities for anyone working in this space.
The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently for residents of listed locations only. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. See more information on our benefits and equity. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary.

$130,000—$200,000 USD
