Position Summary
**Candidates must already be located in or near the greater Nashville, TN area as this is a Hybrid position that reports onsite three days per week at the Bridgestone Tower in Nashville.
The position’s primary focus is to design and develop Air-Springs for Commercial Vehicles. The role is deeply rooted in mechanical engineering in general, and the Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH) field in particular. The ideal candidate will be a fundamentally strong engineer with a creative and innovative side. Project management skills coupled with and ability to multi-task are a must as the CV projects are generally short sprints to the finish line. The candidate must be a self-starter with a “can-do” attitude, and motivated to delight the customer with their work product. The key to success is cohesive internal collaboration with all departments touched by the Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) process and external collaboration with Suppliers and customers.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Design using advanced Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools such as Catia® and Autodesk Inventor®.
- Engineer air-springs using in-house Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools like TASE.
- Project manage multiple programs using MS/Office® suite.
- Coordinate meetings and maintain active channels of communications internally and externally.
- Work within a global product team integrally supporting programs.
- Collaborate with all departments touched by the APQP process, including but not limited to drafting, testing, prototyping, sales, process engineering, and plant quality.
- Ensure program objectives (quality, cost, and timing) are met by effective communications externally with suppliers and customers.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 2 years of work experience in a related field.
Minimum Qualifications
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience
