Context
Our client is a major Spanish IT provider for the global travel and tourism industry.
This solution provides search, pricing, booking, ticketing and other processing services in real-time to travel providers and travel agencies through its CRS (computer reservation system) distribution business area. It also offers computer software that automates processes such as reservations, inventory management software and departure control systems. It services customers including airlines, hotels, tour operators, insurers, car rental and railway companies, ferry and cruise lines, travel agencies and individual travellers directly.
Business environment
Airline business is going through a complete retailing transformation to address expectations customers are now used to in retail: workflow efficiency and control, price transparency, social networks interactions, personalization, etc.
In this context, Order Management System (OMS) is essential to deliver the true value of this transformation. And our group is in charge of building the Amadeus one.
Following 2020 producthon that helped building the first system bricks, our team is now focused on making the product ready for airlines in production achieving the key objectives of openness, simplicity, and agility. Last but not least, the group is organized in full SAFe.
Purpose
Joining OMS, you will be working in an agile team that is designing, developing, validating, and maintaining core components of the OMS.
Key accountabilities
As a Product Definition Analyst, you will have to:
- Be passionate about and committed to delivering high quality software
- Clarify requirements with Business Unit product management and propose solutions in line with the vision to ensure that the new developments will match both customers’ expectations and product strategy.
- Ensure that features can be industrialized, easily deployed to facilitate the product deployment, and improve its maintainability.
- Innovate by designing and documenting new features considering both industry evolution and technical evolution.
- Document and share your knowledge to provide meaningful information to internal & external customers of the platform. Delivering quality product specifications, solution design, ensuring knowledge transfer through handovers.
- Coordinate with relevant divisions and departments to identify interactions with other Amadeus applications and ensure functional compatibility.
- Validate the product to ensure compliance of the delivered functionality and system integrity, and give sign off
- Support the customer during their initial implementation, providing advice on the configuration of the system.
- Provide information to the Product Management as necessary for the elaboration of business cases and RFP responses.
- Consistently meet established deadlines
- Maintain timely reports on status of projects, potential technical problems, and any other relevant details
- Support customers in the production phase and contribute to the maintenance effort, ensure production integrity & security. Investigating the reported incidents and analyzing the possible solutions, ensuring clear and accurate communication with customers and applications.
- Collaborate with your fellow team members, to benefit from their knowledge and different backgrounds, and bring your own assets to the team
