KONE is now looking for a Procurement Risk Manager to join the Europe Area Procurement team.
About the position
The Global Risk Management Manager – Procurement holds a pivotal leading role in procurement to shape and execute robust risk management processes in procurement activities. This position integrates strategic oversight with the operational activities of procurement risk management, ensuring alignment with KONE risk management framework and standards. The role demands a good understanding of risk governance, an ability to work with cross-functional teams, and expertise in mitigating complex procurement and supplier risks.
The manager serves as a key link between the procurement function, category managers, and KONE’s risk management community, actively participating to maintain and develop KONE’s resilience and safeguard supply chain operations
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a procurement-centric risk management in line with KONE’s RISE strategy, KONE risk management and purchasing policies
- Embed advanced risk assessment methodologies into procurement processes and workflows to risk-based decision-making and operational resilience. Act as the primary coordinator for risk initiatives across procurement categories and Areas.
- Forge strong alliances with cross-functional leaders in global risk management, legal, finance, compliance, and supply chain to achieve seamless risk mitigation.
- Actively participate and contribute to KONE’s global risk management activities with internal stakeholders to exchange best practices, align strategies, and drive innovation.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the procurement community, offering actionable insights into risk exposure and mitigation approaches.
- Lead sophisticated risk evaluations, focusing on supplier dependency, financial health, regulatory compliance sustainability metrics and other risk factors.
- Timely monitor and provide necessary guidance on the implementation of risk treatment actions on key procurement risks
- Proactively monitor and address emerging global risks, including geopolitical shifts, supply chain incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Support, within KPO, the creation and implementation of business continuity plans and strategies to safeguard procurement operations during crises.
- Design and deploy targeted training programs to enhance procurement teams’ competencies in risk management.
- Contribute to Global risk management’s trainings and info sessions for increased supplier risk management awareness within KONE globally.
- Act as a mentor, fostering risk awareness and empowering teams to embed best practices in their operations.
- Develop advanced dashboards and reporting systems to provide real-time visibility into risk metrics and trends.
- Deliver comprehensive reporting and updates to senior leadership, synthesizing complex risk data into strategic recommendations.
- Drive innovation by identifying opportunities to refine risk management processes and integrate cutting-edge solutions.
- Conduct audits and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of existing controls and recommend improvements.
Required experience:
- Master’s degree in science or business administration, engineering, supply chain management, risk management, or a related field.
- Over 5 years of progressive experience in risk management, procurement, or supply chain operations, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Demonstrated success in engaging with or managing global, cross-functional teams and leading complex projects.
- Strategic foresight with the ability to translate vision into actionable initiatives.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling productive collaboration with senior stakeholders across diverse functions and teams
- Advanced proficiency in risk modeling, data analytics, and digital platforms for risk monitoring and management.
- In-depth understanding of global procurement landscapes, supplier dynamics, and sustainability frameworks.
- Agility in prioritizing tasks and navigating high-pressure environments with precision.
- Fluent spoken and written in English
