We are seeking to fill a Procurement Specialist role in Avid!

The Procurement Specialist is an integral part of the Procurement team which supports and benefits employees of Avid.  The requirements of this position include (1) providing customer service and support to Avid employees with the execution of business objectives, (2) assisting in the development and implementation of solutions and programs to insure the achievement of service level commitments and mutually agreed upon financial goals, and (3) supporting behavior modification through education and communication to Avid employees, insuring the effectiveness of policy, service levels, programs and products.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, monitor and analyze vendor database - document Costs and Generate Reports - responsible for documenting the costs for all vendors, as well as generating monthly cost reports to present to stakeholders.

  • Interaction with internal customers and suppliers regarding required specifications pricing, availability, and delivery of ad hoc procurement requests.

  • Perform necessary systematic corrective action on issues related to supplier purchase orders or contract non-compliance.

  • Communicate company needs with vendors - responsible for understanding the needs of the company, and then communicating said needs with potential vendors to determine best vendor for Avid. 

  • Evaluate and Compare Vendors – ability to provide cost-benefit analysis using analytical skills and tools to compare vendors to assist with the selection of suppliers/tools/SaaS that best fit the needs of Avid.

  • Support service and material buyers with ad hoc reporting and special project assistance.

  • Support contract management in the execution of accurate and timely agreements.

  • Serves as the primary contact for analyzing and evaluating supplier performance. Responsible for evaluating suppliers according to key business criteria and liaising with internal business owners and maintaining strong supplier relation.

  • Maintain positive working relationships with strategic suppliers to assure cost, quality and delivery targets are met.

  • Work with the IT Info Security team for Supplier Risk Assessment.

  • Facilitate internal vendor processes for purchase orders and purchase requisitions.

  • Identifies opportunities for operational and procurement process improvement.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree from an accredited university.

  • 3-5 years of professional work experience.

  • High quantitative analysis skills.

  • Excellent knowledge of end-to-end procurement processes including competitive bidding, contract management, supplier performance management, and life-cycle costing processes.

  • Knowledge in data extraction from cloud-based programs.

  • Strong understanding of business processes.

  • Experience in contract renegotiation and contract management.

  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Products – Word and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to demonstrate basic project and time management skills.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Strong multitasking skills.

  • Experience with SAP and/or Oracle NetSuite ERP tool is a plus.
