POSITION SUMMARY:
Marathon Petroleum Company is seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer to fill the role of Sustainability Coordinator at its Garyville, Louisiana Refinery. In addition to performing the responsibilities associated with being the site’s Sustainability Coordinator, the individual holding this position will periodically be engaged to support refinery-wide optimization and troubleshooting efforts, that may have no direct correlation to sustainability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Single point of contact for coordination of all energy, water, and sustainability objectives for the refinery.

Facilitates the identification of new ideas to improve energy efficiency and water conservation.

Supports maintenance activities that increase energy efficiency, such as repairing insulation and steam/air leaks.

Interfaces with subject matter experts and Sustainability Coordinators company-wide to support corporate sustainability efforts.

Produces reports throughout the year to support budgeting, benchmarking, forecasting and post-auditing of the refinery’s energy and water usage.

In addition to performing the responsibilities associated with being the site’s Sustainability Coordinator, the individual holding this position will periodically be engaged to support refinery-wide optimization and troubleshooting efforts, that may have no direct correlation to sustainability. Occasionally assisting with site Turnaround coverage and investigating operational upsets/incidents should be expected.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering required.

Minimum 3 years working in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry required.
