Job Description:

Will lead multiple programs, develop, implement, and improve processes using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques, as well as create process control documents to support all production functions. Must also deploy established documents to ensure consistent, reliable and high-quality level product within economic constraints.

Essential Functions

  • Perform time studies to establish process baselines to balance workloads.
  • Lead / participate in lean/six sigma process improvement initiatives, Kaizen events, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Support manufacturing operations with regards to device failure validation, root cause analysis, corrective action implementation.
  • Analyze production data and interpret results to direct Lean improvement initiatives.
  • Design and develop fixturing / tooling to drive process efficiencies.
  • Process / manufacturing facility layout designs to maximize throughput, yields, and quality.
  • Perform root cause failure analysis on field failures (returns) and repair process failures.
  • Identify and report deficiencies and potential improvements to the department supervisor.
  • Lead analytical troubleshooting & problem solving. Coach and train others on these as well
  • Collaborate with plant and leadership team, customers, suppliers, and production floor personnel to identify and facilitate projects to improve key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Testing Responsibilities, setting up of parameters with SPC (Statistical Process Control)
  • Identify and resolve manufacturing problems while maintaining quality standards through engineering methodology, data collection, and analysis of statistical metrics.
  • Interface with customers, technicians, production personnel and support staff
  • Participate in continuous improvement training and activities such as Kaizen and 5S teams.
  • Continuously improve manual and automated production processes
  • Develop, document, maintain, and standardize production floor processes and procedures to facilitate production.
  • Comply with and support all department and corporate policies and procedures, included but not limited to safety, security, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Organize and manage multiple projects and tasks to assure high quality and timely service to all internal and external customers.
  • Other duties as required.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Actively identify & pursue process improvement initiatives resulting in decreased CPU.
  • Identify and report deficiencies and potential improvements to the department Supervisor.
  • Perform root cause failure analysis on field failures (returns) and repair process failures.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced, dynamic assembly and logistics environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required in Industrial/Manufacturing/ Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or
  • 5+ years of active experience in process engineering activities, preferably in die casting.
  • Work from complex schematic, layouts, and diagrams.
  • Experience with Minitab, Visio, Adobe Pro, AutoCAD and/or LabView preferred but not required.
