Additionally, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our privacy programme, ensuring compliance with the law and internal policies to support our business objectives.

What you will do:

We are seeking an experienced Privacy Programme Manager to join our company in the telecommunications sector and help operationalise our privacy efforts. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities essential for a strong privacy programme, as well as developing processes and procedures to integrate privacy practices throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Policy Development: Develop and maintain comprehensive privacy policies and procedures in line with applicable laws and regulations, as well as industry best practices.
  2. Compliance Oversight: Monitor compliance with company policies and procedures designed to meet global privacy law requirements.
  3. Risk Assessment: Conduct privacy risk assessments to identify potential areas of risk and implement measures to mitigate those risks.
  4. Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver privacy training programmes to employees to ensure awareness and understanding of privacy policies and procedures.
  5. Data Subject Requests: Manage and respond to data subject access requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses in accordance with legal requirements.
  6. Vendor Management: Evaluate the privacy practices of third-party vendors and service providers to ensure they meet the company's privacy standards.
  7. Privacy by Design: Work closely with product and engineering teams to incorporate privacy principles into the design and development of products and services.
  8. Privacy Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the privacy programme and develop processes designed to operationalise and mature the programme.

What is Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Information Technology, or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in privacy compliance, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of global privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and mitigate privacy risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively educate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Relevant privacy certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT) are preferred.
