This role sits within our Program Management Office (PMO) on the Yahoo Home ecosystem - the largest organization in the company. The position is critical to our ongoing digital transformation initiatives for Yahoo Mail, with a specific focus on our strategic move from on-premises infrastructure to cloud-based solutions. 

We are seeking a proactive Principal Technical Program Manager who can drive team initiatives, not just support them. This role goes beyond traditional program management – we need a dynamic leader who can actively propel our digital transformation forward. This is a high-impact role that requires a strategic thinker and strong executor who can take ownership of transformational initiatives while driving collaboration across teams. In this role you will:

  • Lead the program management of several complex, matrix, programs that are on time, on budget and with value.  

  • Drive Yahoo Mail’s digital transformation, ensuring smooth migration from on-prem to cloud infrastructure while optimizing processes and efficiencies.

  • Serve as the “air traffic controller” guiding large cross-functional programs and objectives to deliver against aggressive timelines, partnering agile Squad product, engineering and design leads to ensure successful delivery against our objectives.

  • Actively push initiatives forward—this role is about leading and driving outcomes, not just supporting teams.

  • Prepare and manage project plans, documentation, risk mitigation, and resource management for cross-team initiatives and large projects/programs.

  • Act as the key liaison between teams, ensuring transparency, alignment, and identifying cross-team dependencies to improve business outcomes.

  • Establish and drive best-in-class execution practices across the product development lifecycle.

  • Serve as a technical thought leader, continuously improving how teams operate and collaborate.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience leading and delivering complex technical initiatives as a program manager, project manager, or similar role.

  • Proven expertise in leading digital transformation initiatives, with demonstrated success in driving enterprise-wide technological and organizational change.

  • Experience working in large-scale, multi-team environments and managing cross-functional dependencies.

  • Deep knowledge of Agile/SCRUM and/or Scaled Agile methodologies. SCRUM Master certificate and/or SAFe RTE certification a plus.

  • High proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Project Plans, Gantt, Roadmapping, etc. 

  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with executive stakeholders and leadership.

  • Deep understanding of SDLC and technical program execution.

  • Consumer technology environments are a plus.

  • Demonstrated track record of cultivating strong working relationships and driving collaboration across multiple product and platform teams.

  • Proactive, efficient, and resourceful approach and ability to thrive in a creative and deadline-driven environment.

  • Creative thinker who challenges the status quo and drives innovative solutions.

The compensation for this position ranges from $136,125.00 - $283,750.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
