Who we are looking for

The principal software engineer leads technical direction and mentors the engineering team. They architect and design complex software systems, ensuring scalability and performance. Problem-solving is central, to tackling intricate technical challenges and optimizing code. Collaboration with cross-functional teams drives product delivery and innovation. They uphold coding standards, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices. Continuous learning keeps them abreast of cutting-edge technologies and trends.

  • Leading the design and architecture of complex software systems. This includes making decisions about technology stack, scalability, and performance.
  • Contributing to the overall technical strategy of the organization. This includes evaluating new technologies, making recommendations for tooling and infrastructure improvements, and driving innovation.
  • Ensuring that the engineering team follows best practices for code quality, performance, security, and scalability. This involves implementing coding standards, conducting code reviews, and promoting continuous improvement.
  • Writing technical documentation, including design documents, API specifications, and architecture diagrams to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Writing high-quality, efficient code for critical components of the software system. This may involve coding in various programming languages depending on the project requirements.
  • Staying updated with the latest technologies, trends, and best practices in software engineering through self-learning, attending conferences, and participating in technical communities.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive product delivery and innovation.

What you bring to the Team

  • 10+ years of work experience in writing software
  • Proven expertise in designing scalable, high-performance software architectures and making strategic technical decisions.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities, with a track record of leading and motivating engineering teams.
  • Effective communication skills to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • In-depth understanding of software technologies across multiple programming languages.
  • Extensive hand on experience and mastery of high-level languages required C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, SQL, etc. 
  • Strong grasp of algorithms and computer science fundamentals.
  • Proficiency with various software stacks, including Web, Windows Desktop, Cloud, and IoT.
  • Expertise in API technologies, including REST and GraphQL. 
  • Proficiency with AWS
  • Proficiency with operating system internals, including Linux and Windows.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Requirements:  

  • United States - Remote
  • Travel Quarterly to our Downtown Los Angeles Office
  • FINAL INTERVIEW WILL BE ONSITE IN LA
