The principal scientist is a technical expert who acts as a first point of contact for the resolution of complex technical issues encountered throughout Global Supply Chain. Recognized as an industry expert, they leverage their broad technical knowledge of spirits manufacturing to anticipate internal and external business challenges. They conceive and lead long term research platforms and contribute to the development of functional strategy. They lead the technical development of breakthrough cost savings initiatives and keep abreast of upcoming technical trends.

Plans, coordinates, and implements research programs in accordance with Brown-Forman Global Production strategy, policy and procedures

Routinely communicates complex and conceptual ideas to those with limited knowledge as well as to peers using high level skills and a range of media

Leads and contributes to patent writing proposals
What You Bring to the Table
-
PhD in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or related field
-
Minimum of 10+ years work experience, with 7+ years in the beverage alcohol manufacturing industry
-
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Proven ability to lead and manage research projects.

Strong communication and presentation skills. Able to communicate complex and conceptual ideas to a range of groups.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Project leadership experience inside and outside discipline

Experience managing complex research projects

Evidence of the ability to collaborate externally to complete research projects and advance thinking.
