Role overview:
As a Principal Product Manager - Gen AI POC Activation you will work in the product model and will lead the development of a product strategy and set key business objectives (OKRs) for highest value enterprise use cases. You will need to leverage extensive knowledge of working in the product model, customer feedback, key data and analytics, and other relevant data points to assess value, develop business cases, and prioritize the direction and desired outcomes for identified use cases.

Work with senior leaders and key stakeholders across the enterprise to identify, vet, and activate highest value Gen AI use cases that advance Target’s strategic priorities, unlock value for the business, and improve team member & guest experience

Demonstrate agile/sprint-oriented ways of working to quickly develop and test proofs of concept and minimum viable products prior to investing and scaling for production

Negotiate across competing priorities and high demand from business users to appropriately manage expectations, define measurement strategies, and drive highest priority outcomes

Work in lock step with Data Science, Product Engineering, and business stakeholder teams to ensure alignment and progress

Prioritize and outline feature set for selected use cases

Define user stories to bring use case to life

Review work-in-progress demos to provide early feedback on refining prompts, UI, etc.

Monitor implementation progress, including resolving obstacles blocking progress

Update Gen AI SteerCo and other stakeholders as appropriate

Keep abreast of external environment, competitor retail use cases and broad application of Gen AI platform and tooling strategies that Target may benefit from exploring

Unique to this product role, you’ll hand-off long-term ownership of product backlog and future iterations at time of large-scale production and then move on to backlog of other high impact and value POC ideas to explore & activate. You’ll work with Product and Product Engineering to get a POC from idea to demonstrable concept and then hand it off for further development and refinement in pilot and production deployments
You will be the “voice of the product” to all outside stakeholders advocating for Gen AI product use cases and ensuring their needs are met and that the product team is getting the leadership and support that it needs to be successful. You will need to cultivate strong relationships across the enterprise to drive collaboration and alignment with key partners and stakeholders across pyramids.

About you:

Four-year degree or equivalent experience.

10+ years of Product management or equivalent domain experience.

Possesses working knowledge of Gen AI or has a strong passion for Gen AI.

Experience with technology and ability to facilitate communication between business and technology teams specifically Product Engineering and Data Sciences.

Strong communication skills with proven ability to influence peers, key stakeholders and leaders at all levels.

Expert at working in an agile environment (e.g., user stories, iterative development, scrum teams, sprints, personas).

Ability to plan and set a strategy, define Organizational Key Results (OKRs), communicate and drive business outcomes.
