Summary Generated by Built In

Proof is the world's first identity-assured transaction management platform and we are on a mission to digitize trust for all of life’s most critical transactions. Developed by the same market leaders and experts who brought notarization online with Notarize℠, Proof offers trust in a digital world by verifying identities and securing transactions to protect businesses and their customers. Since 2015, we’ve completed many of the world’s first digital commerce transactions, including the first online real estate closing, online mortgage closing, online auto sale, and online will and we're still just getting started!

As the Principal Product Manager for our Defend product, you will own the strategy, vision, and execution of tools designed for fraud investigation and risk prediction. Defend is our anti-fraud platform that protects consumers against forgery or impersonation. Experience in building fraud or cybersecurity products is a must. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with engineering, data science, and design teams to create intuitive investigative tools and data-driven risk models that protect businesses and their customers. You’ll work directly with customers to deeply understand their challenges, anticipate emerging fraud trends, and deliver solutions that drive real impact.

In addition, you will also lead strategic planning, vision definition, GTM strategy, stakeholder alignment, executive presentations and customer briefings as it pertains to your product area. You may also need to be an expert in specific customer segments such as enterprise, real estate or financial services. This role is an individual contributor role, reporting to the VP of Product.

What you'll do as a Principal Product Manager:

  • Independently lead customer solution conversations to help unlock activation and gather key product insights to improve your product area.
  • Build a deep understanding of the intersection between our customers and our trusted agents to drive these insights back into our product strategy.
  • Make critical product and business decisions in an area that is highly ambiguous and requires the synthesis of data, feedback and customer insights
  • Creating product vision and roadmaps to advance our product strategy in the market and presenting this to key customers and stakeholders
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to review product strategy, build consensus and ensure alignment.
  • Provide status updates, action plans and recommendations to senior leadership on an ongoing basis
  • Partner with our operations teams to streamline the onboarding of new notaries and agents to our platform.
  • Partner with our strategy team to define new business opportunities and business models for agents to earn on our platform.
  • Shape the GTM strategy for how we drive engagement and community within our network of trusted agents.
  • Partner with the Fraud Operations team and Customer Support to respond to cases of fraud, creating a feedback loop for the platform.
  • Research and introduce new technologies that can be incorporated into our product (for example, technologies such as machine learning, computer vision, PKI, real-time analytics, etc.)
  • Define the work for our engineering team by writing functional specs, prioritizing roadmaps, troubleshooting customer issues and managing the day-to-day execution of several software development projects.
  • Partner across Solutions, Customer Success, Sales and Engineering to advance the mission of our Trust Platform.

What were looking for:

  • 10+ years of experience in software development (ideally with a mix of SaaS, startup, B2B/B2C experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in technical product management
  • 3+ years of experience with design thinking product methodology
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and drive results
  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence
  • Ability to explain complex business and technical concepts to broad audiences in an approachable way
  • A solid toolbox of product management skills
  • A passion for building great customer experiences
  • You thrive in ambiguity and believe every problem has many solutions
  • You have a knack for navigating competing opinions, making everyone feel heard, and shifting perspectives when necessary
  • You’re naturally innovative. You’re dreaming of new solutions before their problems arise
  • A strong working knowledge of APIs and SDKs
  • You can lead engineering conversations on technical topics like, information architecture, object model and data flows
  • Experience working on platform products, marketplace, PKI or real-time analytics
  • Prior experience with documents or eSignature is recommended
  • A technical degree is a plus
