About This Role
At the Principal Data Science level, this person is viewed as an expert within Technology, Analytics and Data Insights (TADI) and provides solutions to the group and the Drug Safety, Global Regulatory and Research departments. This person works directly with TADI leadership to recommend standards and develop new techniques, methods and strategy for data handling, retrieval, and reporting to support all domains supported by TADI. The role will continue to ensure the success of the Data Science capabilities within TADI with a focus on implementing traditional and emerging data sources and techniques to drive Biogen’s AI strategy. The role will also present findings and best practices internally and externally at industry forums. Candidates located on the East coast are preferred.
What You’ll Do
- Implement/Execute on analytic strategy to maximize the use of disparate data and modern methodologies in advancing Biogen’s AI Strategy
- Research, test, and implement new methodologies, technologies, and outputs and identify/incorporate new data sources to advance Biogen’s AI Strategy.
- Collaborate with R&D analytic groups to support R&D analytics strategy (defining standards, innovation, and analytics governance)
- Review and present findings/research outcomes.

Qualifications
Required Skills
- Master's degree in a scientific discipline
- Working knowledge of Research and Development in the Life Science Industry
- Expert programming skills for data wrangling, mathematical/statistical analyses and predictive analytics and modeling (LLM, R, SAS, Python, etc.)
- Advanced data visualization capabilities (PowerBI, D3/javascript, R Studio, etc.)
- Knowledge of high performance/computing environments (Snowflake, HPC, Databricks, etc.)
- Interpret data and analyses and properly communicate the value and findings
- Use a scientific based approach for problem solving with data

Additional Information
The base compensation range for this role is $124,000 to $200,000. Base salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, job related years of relevant experience, internal equity, and location of the job. Additionally, this role is eligible for participation in Biogen’s LTI grants and other incentive programs.
