Company Overview:

Cohere Health, a fast-growing series B company, is illuminating healthcare for patients, their doctors, and all those who are important in a patient’s healthcare experience, both in and out of the doctors office.  Founded in August, 2019, we are obsessed with eliminating wasteful friction between patients and doctors experienced in areas that have nothing to do with health and treatment, particularly for diagnoses that require expensive procedures or medications.  To that end, we build software that is expressly designed to ensure the appropriate plan of care is understood and expeditiously approved, so that patients and doctors can focus on health, rather than payment or administrative hassles.

Opportunity Overview:

Our Health Value Optimization Insights team is committed to transforming data into actionable intelligence that empowers our clients to drive better healthcare outcomes, optimize costs and enhance patient outcomes and member experience. Our vision is to be a trusted analytics partner for our clients, continuously evolving our capabilities to meet the dynamic needs of the healthcare landscape and ensuring that every insight we provide translates into meaningful value.

We are seeking a Principal Analyst to join the team, leading the development and execution of value-added insights to enable data-driven decision making. The ideal candidate will be a motivated analytical thinker with experience in healthcare and a desire to mentor more junior analysts within their team.  Additionally, this role will be responsible for collaborating cross functionally with clinical, actuarial and business stakeholders to align analytics with organizational goals. The Lead/Principal Analyst will be instrumental in identifying trends, cost drivers and opportunities for improved utilization management beyond the scope of currently managed services.

Last but not least: People who succeed here are empathetic teammates who are candid, kind, caring, and embody our core values and principles. We believe that diverse, inclusive teams make the most impactful work. Cohere is deeply invested in ensuring that we have a supportive, growth-oriented environment that works for everyone.

What you will do:

  • Analyze, manipulate, or process large sets of data using statistical & analytics software to transform data into inferences with respect to cross-functional workflows and their intersection with clinical content, services, products and client needs
  • Drive design and development cross functionally to produce data analytics and reports to draw clinical insights to:

  • Maintain and manage documentation of methodology of opportunity analysis/impact evaluation analysis to allow for scalability to multiple programs and interventions across types of services, care paths/diagnosis groups and lines of business (e.g. Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, Commercial)
  • Proactively identify opportunities and questions to inform clinical specialty programs including analyzing market, payer and provider variations in trends, utilization, cost and quality by line of business and procedure
  • Collaborate with clinicians, program implementation and operations experts, informaticists, data scientists and actuaries to support clinical programs and pilot designs
  • Act as a strategic partner to clients by interpreting data and translating insights and opportunities into business value through data-driven storytelling
  • Coordinate and lead analytics activities across multiple projects simultaneously, delegating work to junior analysts and aligning with senior leaders and program managers on delivery timelines and criteria
  • Support the onboarding, training and development of junior analysts at Cohere

Your Background & Requirements:

  • 7+ years of professional data analysis experience in the healthcare industry (payer, provider or consulting)
