Job Description

The Principal Consultant – Executive Search is responsible for designing and integrating business critical talent projects within our customers as well as working on international confidential searches. They will identify, build, deliver and project manage talent programs on behalf of our customers.

The Principal Consultant – Executive Search is also responsible for leading dedicated search and selection capabilities for international clients as well as creating and running innovative search assignments, defining search specifications, assessing candidates, producing shortlists, and placing executive talent.

  • Location Specifics: Candidates must be based in Gurugram, India (or willing to relocate)
  • Specific Needs: At least 5 years of experience in Executive Search is a must; 10 years in senior stakeholder management; Have done Business Development as well (a must) 
  • Language Requirement: Native Language; English
  • Position Setup: Hybrid (1-2 days in the office)
  • Shift Schedule: Day shift (9AM to 6PM IST)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • External and internal stakeholder engagement
  • Management and direction of the total delivery team
  • Define the search or project specification. Create job descriptions, message to market and confidentiality process (if applicable) to be approved / signed by the client
  • Creation of internal scripts for ‘market insight’ on each project
  • Complete assessment and qualification of candidates from longlist to shortlist
  • Creation of content rich, high quality reports and candidate profiles
  • Review and engagement meetings during the process
  • Identification and escalation of any risks to the project prior to timeline expectations
  • Post-project client engagement
  • Overall quality control for each stage of the project both internally and externally, including full compliance and usage of internal systems (ex: Clockwork)
  • Competency based and skills-based interviews, personal or in-depth phone interviews (depending on location).
  • Preparation of detailed candidate reports and shortlist presentation
  • Evaluation to criteria: experience, cultural, compensation, relocation, achievement, parameters of acceptance, etc.
  • Management of resignation and candidate follow up to placement
  • Post placements follow up and report at 3, 6 and 12 months (retention)
  • Keeping an accurate and completed record of all activities undertaken, on the in-house systems, according to internal processes
  • Present a business case at senior levels both with candidates and partners
  • Account management that will grow revenues and remit within partners globally
  • Analyze the commercial business needs of our partners and advise how we can strengthen this proposition
  • Build a multi-channelled strategy for business development in their industry sector in a specified geography
  • Create, build and nurture a network of executives that can assist in generating new business for Cielo and maximise to their full potential
  • Generate meetings with potential targets and present Cielo’s offering
  • Participate in client pitches with expert knowledge of specific disciplines in order to demonstrate capability to new or existing clients and win retained searches because of this
  • Close new business in Executive Search and research & insight services within agreed company parameters and accountable for a quarterly revenue target
  • Generate introductions/leads for their colleagues whenever possible
  • They must effectively execute and fill positions for clients through proactive executive search
  • Responsible for giving detailed assignment briefs to Delivery team
  • To manage the day-to-day account activity including developing search methodologies and job descriptions, project execution and management, presenting shortlists, managing feedback and the interview process - all the while ensuring clear expectations around timeframes are communicated to the client
  • Use research prepared to target potential candidates for assignments through headhunting, referrals and networking activities in line with the client brief
  • To interview and brief potential candidates on the phone and face to face at times and places convenient to them
  • To produce reports and profiles to be presented to the client for suitable candidates
  • Develop relationships within existing accounts during assignment work and identify opportunities for business growth and agree on appropriate strategies based on these opportunities
  • Develop innovative ways to continually improve and expand search and research methodologies through technology, external resources, relationships and organization mapping; and participating, identifying, and potentially leading activities that help position our company for future growth
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • At least 10 years’ experience of senior stakeholder and client relationship management, including directing small teams
  • At least 5 years in and end to end talent acquisition role, including retained Executive Search
  • Experience in writing insightful profiles and reports
  • Demonstrable experience on working within tight timescales and high demand clients or environments

Experience:

  • Demonstratable experience being the ‘trusted advisor’

Exposure:

  • Strong external networks and understanding of best practice
  • Influencing and negotiating, being able to quickly build robust relationships based on trust and confidence – with a proven track record in delivering results that benefit the customer’s business objectives
  • Effective project management skills
  • Proactively increases own knowledge and commercial awareness whilst keeping abreast of new innovations in attraction methodologies
  • Ability to produce and analyse data, identify opportunities and using data to drive decisions
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex situations conceptually and provide workable solutions to a variety of stakeholders
  • Customer focused; high candidate & client focus, lateral thinker, problem solver, able to work independently with chance to use own initiative
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • International experience is highly desirable
