Job Overview
The Principal Architect for Generative AI Solutions at T-Mobile is responsible for designing and overseeing the integration of generative AI technologies into our platforms and applications. This role involves crafting technical blueprints and collaborating closely with both technical and business teams to develop AI-driven solutions tailored to enhance operational efficiency and innovation. The architect will work alongside data scientists and machine learning operations teams to ensure the successful implementation and scalability of AI functionalities. Through strategic design and leadership, the Principal Architect will significantly contribute to T-Mobile's technological advancement and competitive edge in the market. Their expertise and guidance are crucial in harnessing the potential of generative AI to deliver tangible business benefits and drive growth.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Designs and oversees the integration of generative AI technologies into platforms and applications
  • Crafts technical blueprints and collaborates closely with technical and business teams to develop AI-driven solutions
  • Works alongside data scientists and machine learning operations teams to ensure successful implementation and scalability of AI functionalities
  • Leads strategic design initiatives and provides leadership in technological advancement projects
  • Guides the application of generative AI to deliver tangible business benefits and drive growth
  • Ensures compliance with architectural and technological standards across all AI projects
  • Participates in other duties or projects as assigned by business management as needed

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Related Field Required)
  • Master's/Advanced Degree Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Related Field (Preferred)

Work Experience:

  • 7-10 years experience in solutions design and enterprise architecture delivering IT solutions (Required)
  • 4-7 years Progressive experience in software engineering/enterprise architecture/technology leadership across multiple products, systems, and/or platforms
  • 4-7 years experience with Enterprise applications, PLM, middle-tier services, database, storage, distributed computing, virtualization, and/or application technology

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Technical Leadership

  • Ability to guide and influence technical teams in the development and integration of AI technologies.

Enterprise Architecture

  • Expertise in designing and implementing scalable and efficient enterprise-wide architectures.

Solution Architecture

  • Proficiency in creating technical blueprints and solutions that integrate generative AI technologies.

Strategic Thinking

  • Capability to develop long-term tech strategies that align with business goals and enhance competitive advantage.

Agile Methodologies

  • Experience in Agile project management and its application in fast-paced technology development environments. (Preferred)

Collaboration

  • Strong ability to work effectively across different teams including technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Problem Solving

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to foresee and manage potential challenges in AI integration.

Innovation

  • Ability to drive innovation within the organization through the adoption and implementation of cutting-edge AI technologies.

Data Analysis

  • Skills in analyzing complex data to inform architecture decisions and improve system performance.

Technical Writing

  • Proficiency in documenting technical designs and proposals clearly and effectively.(Preferred)


Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certified Data Scientist (CDS)- Certification that validates expertise in data science and its application in AI technologies. (Preferred)
  • AWS Certified Machine Learning - Specialty- Certification that demonstrates the ability to design, implement, and maintain machine learning solutions for scalable AI applications on AWS. (Preferred)
  • Certified Solutions Architect- Certification that indicates proficiency in designing and implementing robust and scalable software architectures, including those involving AI technologies. (Preferred)

Base Pay Range: $126,700 - $228,500

Corporate Bonus Target: 20%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.


At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
