We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Data Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in analytics, relational data analysis, and automation techniques, combined with a strong business acumen. This role involves analyzing business challenges, identify root causes and present solutions. The Principal Data Analyst will demonstrate their knowledge of data analysis to interpret complex data sets, implement strategies to address business problems, and create technology-driven solutions. Additionally, they will communicate key findings and recommendations to stakeholders and management, ensuring that data-driven insights guide decision-making processes. They will also set deliverables based on established success criteria, define key metrics to measure progress, and quantify the business impact of solutions. Furthermore, the role involves mentoring and leading junior data analysts, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development. Through their work, the Principal Data Analyst will significantly contribute to optimizing business operations and advancing T-Mobile's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports the achievement of T-Mobile's strategic objectives through data-driven insights 
  • Formulate technical problems by leveraging knowledge of data analytics and automation techniques.
  • Interprets complex data sets to inform strategic business decisions 
  • Transforms business requirements into data-driven solutions 
  • Leads and mentors' junior data analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development 
  • Early involvement in enterprise projects to define business needs & incorporating those needs into the reporting design.
  • Communicates key findings and recommendations to stakeholders and management 
  • Contributes to the optimization of business operations through data analysis 
  • Recommend and implement technology-focused solutions to resolve business problems.
  • Set deliverables based on success criteria and define key metrics to measure progress and effectiveness. 
  • Identify and define data sources, ensuring it is fit for purpose.
  • Also responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Relational Databases: Strong knowledge of relational database, data modeling, systems design and integration. (Required)
  • Data Analysis: Demonstrable ability to analyze data and communicate findings and recommendations to senior management.  (Required)
  • Strategy Implementation: Ability to apply data analysis to real-world business situations. (Required)
  • Analytics Expertise: Extensive knowledge of analytics, relational data analytics, and automation techniques. (Required)
  • Enterprise Software: Experience with Oracle ERP enterprise software experience. (Required)
  • Financial Reporting: Financial reporting experience. (Preferred)
  • Project Management:  Experience in project management. (Preferred)
  • Software Development: Software (SDLC) development experience in Agile methodology. (Preferred)
  • Telecom Industry experience. (Highly Preferred)
  • Certified Analytics Professional (CAP): Certification that demonstrates proficiency in data analytics and the ability to transform complex data into actionable insights. (Desired)
  • SnowPro Advanced: Data Analyst: Certification that validates the ability to work with big data environments and conduct advanced data analysis. (Desired)

Work Experience:

7-10 years Experience working with relational databases using SQL and data querying, cleaning, wrangling, working with common relational and non-relational databases in big data environments

7-10 years Experience with data intelligence tools e.g. Azure Data Studio, Snowflake, Databricks

7-10 years Experience with data warehousing methodologies and modeling techniques.

7-10 years Experience articulating and translating business questions and using statistical techniques to arrive at an answer using data (Preferred)

Experience in reporting & analyzing performance & data visualization such as Tableau, Power BI (Preferred)

Education:

Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analysis or Related Field (Required)

Master's/Advanced Degree Data Science,  Business Analysis or Similar Degree (Preferred)

• At least 18 years of age
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
 

Base Pay Range: $104,300 - $188,200

Corporate Bonus Target: 20%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
