Job Description
Join our dynamic team at ALSAC as the Principal Advisor - Operations, Groups and Organizations. This pivotal role is designed for a strategic leader with a mission-driven mindset, dedicated to excellence in the acquisition, retention, and growth of Groups and Organizations. You will spearhead critical special projects and committees with significant business and revenue impact, collaborating cross-functionally with experts across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Support: Proactively support divisional and departmental strategies focusing on the acquisition, retention, and growth of Groups and Organizations. Consistently deliver excellence with a mission-driven mindset.
Leadership: Lead critical special projects and committees that significantly impact ALSAC's Groups and Organizations efforts. Collaborate cross-functionally with experts across various organizational divisions.
Partnership Cultivation: Plan and implement the strategic direction of national partnership cultivation and programs. Develop solicitation plans, negotiate agreements, and ensure partner engagement and satisfaction.
Collaboration: Work closely with all ALSAC divisions to enhance partner experiences. Present to community groups, businesses, and other organizations. Attend and staff national events such as fundraisers, galas, golf tournaments, and corporate partner events.
Technological Utilization: Utilize technological tools (e.g., Donor Management Software) to document and guide engagement strategies. Record interactions in the internal database and complete necessary reports and documentation.
Discretion and Responsibility: Execute high levels of discretion and fiduciary responsibility. Handle cash, checks, and in-kind donations following ALSAC policies and procedures. Adhere to guidelines set by the Gift Acceptance Policy manual.
Effective Communication: Use strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with senior management and communicate partner activity, including progress, successes, and challenges. Maintain composure and quality under deadline pressure.
Project Management: Initiate timely business plans, project updates, and strategies for multicultural enterprise projects. Develop reports with quantifiable results and immediate actions to support strategic initiatives.
Policy Adherence: Follow all policies and procedures to improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization. Operate within established budgetary parameters and utilize strong problem-solving skills to address issues collaboratively.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated skill in working within a complex environment at senior levels with strong capabilities in planning, organization, and management.
- Proven track record in development practices and principles, managing, and closing financial gifts and commitments.
- Expect approximately 35% annual travel, sometimes required during weekends when necessary.
- Strong communication, public speaking, interpersonal, and telephone skills with a desire to build successful relationships with supporters of St. Jude.
- Demonstrated diplomacy skills, including effective, professional relationships with internal and external key teams.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and the unexpected.
- Self-directed and capable of working independently with limited oversight.
- Ability to understand and execute extremely complex verbal or written instructions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of major philanthropic gifts and financial services industry.
- 8+ years of experience and a bachelor’s degree preferred.
This position will be based at National Executive Office in Memphis, TN and will be eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
