Summary:
Clean Products Trading & Pricing is part of Commercial Value Chain, a cross-functional organization integral to maximizing the commercial performance of MPC. The North/South Pricing team oversees Brand and Wholesale gas and diesel rack pricing at ~250 terminals across 32 states. The successful candidate will serve as a Pricing Specialist for the North Division, working closely with business partners within the Clean Products team to develop and implement strategies to optimize corporate value.
This position is part of a job family with multiple grade levels. The successful candidate will be placed at a level commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilizes broader industry and operational knowledge to develop and facilitate execution of daily pricing strategies for multiple light products commodities, classes of trade, and geographies.
- Collaborates with key business partners to lead, develop, and execute short- and long-term strategies to maximize value chain contribution.
- Collaborates with Commercial Market teams to actively optimize sales vs. forecast. Leads growth and profitable product placement opportunities.
- Monitors market conditions, trends, and competitor pricing activity, and reacts accordingly to balance short term opportunities with a robust assessment of longer-term impacts.
- Identifies and establishes Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for pricing functions. Leads and performs ad hoc analysis of high complexity and communicates insights to senior leadership/operational teams.
- Efficiently utilizes Pricing systems and tools. Troubleshoots issues and collaborates with support partners to resolve promptly. Creates new tools, implements process improvements, and identifies and scopes potential IT enhancements.
- Supports the development, training, and mentoring of other team members. Serves as primary backup for Pricing & Allocation Manager.
- Provides 24/7 on-call support on a scheduled basis.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Five (5) or more years of experience in analytical, pricing, fuel marketing/sales, supply operations, or revenue/profitability management roles.
