As our Reinsurance Pricing Actuary, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining competitive reinsurance pricing models that directly influence our strategic growth. You will work closely with management, underwriters, reinsurance intermediaries, and other stakeholders to deliver accurate pricing solutions, ensuring Waypoint remains an industry leader in a rapidly evolving market.
Your Impact:
- Develop Accurate Pricing: Craft precise prices for individual reinsurance contracts across various structures, including proportional, risk excess, and catastrophe reinsurance, while supporting multiple lines of business (Property, Casualty, Workers Compensation).
- Innovate Pricing Models: Lead the development and maintenance of pricing models for a broad spectrum of reinsurance products, enhancing accuracy and competitiveness.
- Analyze & Interpret Data: Conduct in-depth analyses of historical loss data, market trends, and economic conditions to evaluate risk and pricing implications.
- Update Critical Parameters: Continuously evaluate and update key pricing model parameters, including loss development factors, property loss scales, and casualty ILFs.
- Stay Ahead of Industry Trends: Monitor industry developments, regulatory changes, and actuarial advancements to ensure our pricing strategies are future-proof and compliant.
- Present Strategic Insights: Prepare and present comprehensive pricing analyses and strategic recommendations to senior management.
Successful Candidates Will Have:
- Analytical Expert: You possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy.
- Actuarial Pro: You have a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, with a FCAS, ACAS, or near ACAS designation. An advanced degree in a quantitative field is a plus.
- Pricing Specialist: Proven experience in reinsurance pricing and modeling is a must.
- Tech-Savvy Analyst: Proficient in pricing software, especially Excel, and familiarity with VBA, SQL, R, or Python is a bonus.
- Effective Communicator: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex data insights for strategic decision-making.
- Collaborative Team Player: Capable of working independently and effectively within a cross-functional team environment.
- Catastrophe Modeling Experience: Familiarity with catastrophe modeling software will give you a competitive edge.
- Broad Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of multiple reinsurance lines of business.
The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected annual pay range for this position is between $150,000 to $215,000 plus discretionary bonus. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
