Job Description
PURPOSE:
Sets up, programs and operates CNC Press Break machines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operates forklifts, overhead cranes and hoists.
Programs CNC controls using information provided on prints.
Assists with quoting department for capabilities, limitations and timelines.
Verifies that materials are proper type and dimension, prior to bending.
Sets up and operates equipment following all safety guidelines.
Ability to calculate blank sizes, bend locations, appropriate tonnage and tooling for each part being formed.
Utilize work orders and QC packets to complete work accurately.
Detects equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance components and adjusts machine within capabilities. Reports all machine malfunctions to maintenance/management.
Read, interpret and utilize blue prints.
Verify accuracy of machine settings to confirm accurate tolerances and machine functions.
Ensure quality checks have been done prior to sending parts to the next operation.
Verifies work using common measurement tools. (tape measure, caliper, micrometer)
Maintain tight tolerances as required by engineering and customer specifications.
Confers with engineers, production personnel, or supervisor to resolve any problems.
Responsible for ensuring press dies and punches are maintained and kept clean of debris and scarring.
Responsible for executing and supporting the quality system and procedures in the effort for continuous improvement.
