Job Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Supplier Quality Manager plans, supports, and implements supplier quality programs. The SQ Manager will also evaluate, select and develop a supply base and assess new supplier technology to obtain maximum quality and productivity levels.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 - 5 years relevant experience within the automotive electronics industry
  • Bachelor's degree, engineering field preferred, with understanding of advanced quality engineering practices, principles, processes,
  • Previous experience in the automotive industry and/or Electronics strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FEMA's, APQP, PPAP
  • Experience in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of APQP
  • Advanced skills in Quality methods (8D, 5 Why, etc.)
  • Advanced skills in performing reviews and FMEA's
  • Planned and structured approach, cross functional thinking, team orientated, with assertiveness ability and social competencies.
  • Proven experience working with cross functional teams to complete daily tasks and projects.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other employees.
  • Knowledge/experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise.


ROLE EXPECTATIONS

  • Plans, supports and implements supplier quality programs in conjunction with Magna Electronics goals and objectives
  • Provides quality engineering support by evaluating, selecting and developing a supply base and assess new supplier technology
  • to obtain maximum quality and productivity levels. Reviews and audits supplier products, processes and/or systems performance
  • and provides suggestions for improvement.
  • Formulates and/or assists in formulating internal and external supplier quality control policies and procedures and development of
  • quality standards.
  • Monitors and controls cost, timing, and other related aspects of projects. Understands and adheres to schedule and budgetary
  • requirements of projects and reports process as required.
  • Serves as a technical liaison and coordinates activity of internal and external resources. Serves as a resource by providing a
  • problem solving function by initiating action to overcome obstacles as they are encountered.
  • Participates in quality planning during launch phase of new products. Works with suppliers and Quality Engineering to develop
  • tools for suppliers.
  • Works with suppliers to support them in PPAP, leading to full approval of their product for production use.
