Pre-Sales Engineer
Remote- Washington DC or Florida
PVM is actively seeking a highly motivated Pre-Sales Engineer. As a Pre-Sales Engineer you will collaborate with the delivery Teams, ensuring seamless execution across the entire sales lifecycle—from technical pre-sales engagements to post-sales implementation and adoption. This role is responsible for translating customer needs into tailored solutions, guiding product direction based on market feedback, and ensuring successful delivery and adoption of the company’s software products and services.
Responsibilities:
Pre-Sales & Solution Engineering (Sales Support)
- Partner with Sales & Solution Engineering teams to define and articulate technical solutions that align with customer needs.
- Lead technical discovery sessions with potential clients to understand business requirements and propose tailored solutions.
- Develop demos, solution architectures, and technical presentations to support sales efforts.
- Facilitate and lead engineering activities around development of POCs, demos and bootcamps as required.
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, guiding them on how the company’s product integrates into their ecosystem.
- Collaborate with Product Management to align roadmap priorities with real-world customer challenges.
- Ensure a seamless Sales-to-Delivery handoff process by defining key milestones, deliverables, and success metrics.
- Provide real-time deal support, assisting teams in solution positioning and overcoming customer objections.
Product Strategy & Feedback Loop
- Gather insights from pre-sales engagements, customer feedback, and market trends to influence customer's product roadmaps.
- Work closely with the Product & Engineering teams to ensure that upcoming features align with customer needs and sales strategies.
- Serve as a conduit between customer requirements and internal development teams, ensuring an alignment between business objectives, use case and feature development.
- Work closely with Product Marketing and Product Management to translate technical features into business value propositions.
- Design and manage a centralized enablement platform for easy access to training materials and documentation.
- Drive product enablement initiatives for the Sales and Delivery teams, ensuring they have up-to-date knowledge and materials.
Post-Sales Implementation & Delivery Expansion
- Collaborate with Delivery Teams to ensure a seamless handoff from Sales to Implementation.
- Participate in customer onboarding, MVP definition and stakeholder management, ensuring the proposed solution is delivered as intended.
- Work with Delivery Leadership & Customer Success to identify and track adoption metrics and ensure product value realization.
- Identify expansion opportunities (e.g., additional features, increased licenses, upsell services) during implementation.
- Act as an escalation point for technical challenges during implementation.
- Work closely with Customer Success & Account Management to drive renewals and upsell opportunities.
Cross-Team Collaboration & Enablement
- Train and mentor Sales, Solutions Engineers, and Delivery Teams on product capabilities and roadmap updates.
- Standardize and improve technical sales & delivery processes to ensure consistency and scalability.
- Develop sales enablement tools, playbooks, and technical documentation to streamline customer engagements.
Key Qualifications:
- 3-5 years in a hybrid Pre-Sales Engineering, Product Management, or Technical Consulting role.
- Previously been evaluated and compensated on attainment of sales targets and/or quotas.
- Strong technical background in software products, SaaS solutions, or enterprise platforms.
- Experience working closely with Sales, Engineering, and Customer Success/Delivery teams.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value propositions.
Strong customer-facing communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels. - Experience with Agile methodologies, product development lifecycles, and go-to-market (GTM) strategies.
